One of the Japanese politicians said the same thing, but he is a follower of the Shinto religion.
You can never be safe from a government that can keep you completely safe from each other and the world. You must choose.

Glenn Beck says something someone doesn't like. Film at 11.
"I believe in a Spinoza's God who reveals himself in the harmony of all that exists, but not in a God who concerns himself with the fate and actions of human beings."

I am disappointed because so many are commenting on a show they not to have watched.

I may have missed few seconds of Glenn Becks show yesterday, I know he talked about the evil of the violent cold blooded murders of most of a family in Israel, but I remember nothing but praise about the Japanese people and how wonderful they have been.

Glenn Beck today talked about how much he admirers the Japanese and what a great society they have to respond as they have.

He also talked about heroes and how we all need to be prepared, just in case.

He talked about the over hyping the Media is doing about the dreaded melt down, and how they are making it sound more dangerous than it is by continuously comparing it to Chernobyl.

He then talked about the economy and moved on to choices and the odds of a calamity sticking each of and how no one is really safe because things happen.

He spoke on energy sources and how the cost would go nuts if we cut off oil imports and stopped using coal.

You were then listening to a different show. On his radio show, you can't miss what he said. It's right here, along with the raw audio from his show.

What Glenn Beck said was idiotic and ridiculous.

Not surprising, its hard to actually comment on that because of the typical hyperbole and over exaggerate games being played here. No where in the Audio does Beck suggest that the Japanese are evil nor "deserving" nor that they brought it on themselves or other type of things that idiots said about 9/11 or Katrina with regards to god. He also specifically stated he's not saying God caused it, not saying god didn't, that he doesn't know gods plan.

Becks comments, when you actually use his comments and not Dana's typical bull**** hyperbole, are ridiculous and over the top. But Its hard to join in the rally cry of shouting down Beck's idiocy when others let their hatred and distaste for them inspire them to over react, misrepresent, and outright lie about what was stated to attack him. Wild idea...how about attacking him for what he actually SAID rather than the bull**** you've imagined?

When you have to exaggerate, imply things that aren't there, or outright lie it makes your position look weak. More than that, it makes anyone that actually agrees with you on the reasonable level have to think before commenting because it then makes it seem like they support your bull**** as well. Glenn Beck's comments were dumb, but so was Dana's presentation of it.

    That's just ****ing stupid.
Nobody who wins a war indulges in a bifurcated definition of victory. War is a political act; victory and defeat have meaning only in political terms. A country incapable of achieving its political objectives at an acceptable cost is losing the war, regardless of battlefield events.

Bifurcating victory (e.g. winning militarily, losing politically) is a useful salve for defeated armies. The "stab in the back" narrative helped take the sting out of failure for German generals after WWI and their American counterparts after Vietnam.

All the same, it's nonsense. To paraphrase Vince Lombardi, show me a political loser, and I'll show you a loser.
