UCLA Student Who Posted Racist Rant Online Receives Death Threats

Didn't want national attention, shouldn't have put a racist rant on Youtube. Then she tried to remove the vid from youtube, too late. You remove your video from the Internet, well then INTERNET REMOVES YOU!

She was niave and stupid.

I really don't think that she's someone worth getting offended over...

However if you're going to put videos like that up on the Internet... Did she not think people were gonna see it? Shows just how dumb she truly is.

I wasn't really offended just thought it was kinda funny (the whole epiphany thing lol). Sometimes racism is just hilarious.

Well death threats are over-reaction x1000, but she should have known what kind of reaction it would receive even if she didn't know how widespread that reaction might be. I think this might all add up to quite an epiphany for her.
 
As an aside, here's my sexist comment for the day.

How do girls get into colleges that speak like this? Like....like....like...ya know.....and I was like......and she was like..... And it seems that they virtually all talk this way nowdays.

I have three daughters, and everytime they say "like" in their sentence, I yell "LIKE!" while they're talking. It's been VERY effective. They may or may do it around their friends, but they know how to turn it off when they have to at least because I don't hear it from them much anymore.

I don't think it's much of a problem when people talk that way. What's worrying these days is when kids use internet-speak in their writing...

I highly doubt that everyone who posts a rant on YouTube expects it to go viral and become a national sensation. Most of these kinds of videos receive less than 100 views.

Someday the fools will catch up to the understanding that these self-indulgent diatribes are there for the world to see, in perpetuity.

Universities aren't about higher learning anymore, but who can pay. Most undergrad programs cater to the masses now. It's not until you get into 4th year or your masters that people actually care about what you think. :)

But seriously, liblady, this has to bug you, too. UCLA is supposedly a fine institution, and she sounds like a flunkie carhop from Sonic Drive-in. And it's so prevalent. Not the dudes are that much better, but still.

My theory is that kids have become excellent at taking tests, but are severely lacking in communication skills these days compared to days past.

I have to say I've been pretty shocked overall at the racist jokes that have been making the rounds, even by well-known celebrities. I mean, really, with a country devastated by one of the greatest combination of disasters ever... is that really funny? Or is it just funny because it only affects Asians?

Really took me aback, because I still get a stomach ache every time I see replays of that horror on tv. How anyone could get a laugh off of that is beyond me.
