Japan Faces Potential Nuclear Disaster as Radiation Levels Rise

And given that winds are heading out into the Pacific Ocean for the next few days... something of relief to people in Taiwan, I can assure you...

The winds are not all heading straight into the Pacific. Some wind is pushing south or north for bit before heading east. It is possible some wind will go towards Tokyo as well. Certainly no one in Taiwan has reason to worry, though as of yet.

The winds have been shifting during the day today according to the JMA and NHK. Any radiation remaining over Honshu outside the immediate vicinity of the plants is negligible...

As for Taiwan, we are shifting into a summer pattern... the week-long forecast is favorable and by the time we get into April, Taiwan will be at zero risk...

My understanding is that temperatures are rising in the spent fuel pools at units 5 and 6 perhaps leading to the same failure as unit 4 today.
