Considering the anti-2nd amendment stance of many liberals, one who actually believes in the 2nd amendment as a right has every reason to worry when a lib says they want common sense gun control. common sense gun control to a lib means more infringements on the 2nd amendment.

I pretty sure to Sarah Palin that common sense gun control would be free firearm safety and usage classes to youths, not more infringements on the 2nd amendment.
If Palin did mean common sense gun control the same way Obama or any other liberal means common sense gun control I would still speak out against her trying to **** on the 2nd amendment. I would speak out against anyone trying to **** on the 2nd amendment regardless if they are a conservative,liberal or what ever.

If you looked at any of my posts regarding Palin you would know that I am no fan of Palin.

I'm all for reasonable gun control... registration, CCW permits, keeping felons from legally owning guns, even licensing to make certain gun owners know how to use their weapons. I don't think every home is entitled to an AK or a street sweeper. However, I'm think Obama would like to go far beyond such "common-sense" niceties, since they are mostly already on the books. About the only thing I would be in favor of that isn't on the books is the private gun-sale/gun-show loopholes.

Obama has just swatted down a huge hornets' nest, and the hornests are already armed and waiting for him. What a political fruit loop.

Not that I care who wins in 2012. We've already had 8 years of hell, 2 years of empty mediocrity, and I see no "Never fear, him is here!" on the political horizon. We're pretty much screwed no matter what.

Some of the restrictions you describe go way beyond common sense. Tell me, what makes your arbitrary restrictions to my civil right to an AK any better than Obama's arbitrary restrictions?

What part of fundamental right do you anti-gun nuts not understand?

Other than keeping a weapon out of someone who is actually mentality screwed up there is no such thing as reasonable control. Who are you or anyone else to do decide if we lowly citizens cant have AK-47s? Government thugs can get copies, gang bangers, mobsters can get them but the lowly citizen cant? Why should a man who has served his debt to society get his right to defend himself be taken away from him?

And the first place the attacks on Palin would show up is via the NRA. They wouldn't stand for even the slightest bit of gun control advocacy from her, nor do they from any politician.

If a conservative purposed the vary same thing, you'd pay it no mind.

First of all, what does race have to do with this?

Secondly, you are more wrong than you realize obviously. Next time you have some NRA literature available to you, read it sometime. That will cure any doubts you have of pro-gun support of any politician advocating gun control.

Pistol: In common use at the time? Yes. Is dangerous and unusual? No.
Rifle: In common use at the time? Yes. Is dangerous and unusual? No.
Automatic rifle: In common use at the time? Yes. Is dangerous and unusual? No.
Grenade launcher: In common use at the time? Yes. Is dangerous and unusual? Yes.
Patriot missile battery: In common use at the time? No. Is dangerous and unusual? Yes.
Nuclear warheads: In common use at the time? No. Is dangerous and unusual? Yes.

Tanks are not weapons. Tanks are vehicles weapons can be mounted in, but anyone with enough money to buy one can own one. That doesn't mean you can have a functioning cannon, 50cal machine gun, 2 saw machine guns (unless you buy a tax-stamp), or grenades (unless you have a demolitions license)...it means you can have the tank and the tank only.

You can own a black hawk helicopter, also...doesn't mean you can have the twin mini-guns.
