It is the duty of the righteous to suppress or defeat evil where ever it exist in this world. God will deal with it in the next.

It is the duty of the selfrighteous to suppress or defeat those who they disagree with where ever they are in this world. My God and not theirs will deal with it in the next.

I fixed that for you so you can recognize how silly it sounds.

So I wouldnt be talking all high and mighty there captain america.

Mmmm, I see so now, "sick" equals this:

Wait a minute....I thought that one of the arguments that libs give for Islam is how close to Christianity it is? You mean they have a different God? Which one is that?

Haven't Americans killed thousands, if not millions, of innocents in the name of either Manifest Destiny or democracy, starting with pretty much the entire Native American population?

Even the god of christianity is very different from sect to sect. Theology differs widely and these have major ramifications for believers:
1) Pre destination
2) Protestantism versus Catholicism
3) Revelation
4) Biblical Literalism
5) Biblical inerrancy
6) Post modernism
7) Mysticism
8) The trinity
9) Salvation/Grace
10) Communion/sacrament
11) Creation
12) Christology

That is just to name but a few.
But its also important to note that we label people as "Christian" and not "muslim" or "buddhist" because they share some commonalities. But those commonalities are not black and white. There is no line in the sand.

PLEASE! I am begging you. Actually debate instead of using constant ad hominem attacks against liberals. I have requested you do this before in other topics and you have ignored me...I really hope you listen.

Bashing Liberals is all he knows. If there were no liberals, all he could do is pout and suck his thumb.

There is only one God but depending on who you talk with his personality is what is in question.

The Christian God under went a make over of sorts to become Christianity. The Religion of the Bible was harsh and vengeful, but upon the birth life and death of Jesus became merciful and forgiving.

In Islam God is forceful hateful and encourages the same in it's followers, and rewards can come from the murder of innocent people. This is what helps make it a Cult.

Bill Maher is an idiot with a chip on his shoulder because he's so short.

This is so unbelievably ignorant it defies imagination.

Any religion, if interpreted literally, based on any holy books, can be taken too far. Part of the reason I left Christianity is because I actually read the Bible. It scared the s**t out of me. The blood, and the random killing of innocents, and God's extreme pettiness. The new testament is almost as bad. So read your own holy bok before trashing other's.

Re: Bill Maher tells Rep. Ellison the Quran is a ‘hate-filled holy book’ that inspire

I have a Quran.

It's not better or worse then the bible in these regards.

Islamic Extremists take things out of context in the Quran to justify things that are unjustifiable.

out of context?

Muslims, in fact, are more often exhorted by their scriptures to brutalize non-Muslims than Christians are urged by the gospels to love their enemies and turn the other cheek. Yet, though we assume the latter are meant to take the message to heart, we are somehow sure Islam doesn’t really mean what it says — that when Muslims strike terror into the hearts of the unbelievers, it must be Israel’s fault, or America’s, or something, anything, other than Islam, the only common denominator in these attacks...

Muslims are frequently found carrying out the Koranic directive to “strike terror into the hearts of the unbelievers.” Actually, make that the Koranic theme, so often is it reiterated in the scriptures devout Muslims take to be the verbatim commands of Allah. (See, e.g., Suras 3:151, 8:12–13, 8:60, 9:5, 33:25–27, 59:2–4, 59:13.) And that is beside the hadith, scriptures in which Mohammed, taken to be the perfect Muslim role model, boasts, “I have been made victorious with terror.” (Bukhari 4.52.220 — just scroll down from here, through the glories promised to Muslims who wage jihad against the infidels.)..

If you have been reared in a culture that worships suicide bombers, that dehumanizes Jews as the children of monkeys and pigs, and that insists Israel is not merely the enemy but does not have a right to exist. And these positions, it bears emphasizing, do not represent some fringe Islam of al-Qaeda terrorists who have purportedly hijacked an otherwise peaceful religion. This is mainstream Islam, the sorts of things you would hear in a classroom at al-Azhar University or a television show on al-Jazeera — the place where, according to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, people turn for “real news,” the place where Muslim Brotherhood guru Yusuf Qaradawi lionizes suicide bombers in his popular weekly program, Sharia and Life.

“The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said, ‘The time [of judgment] will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews and kill them; until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: Oh, Muslim! There is a Jew hiding behind me, come and kill him!” That’s not something Osama bin Laden made up. It is right there in the hadith, the authoritative accounts of Mohammed’s words and deeds. As Robert Spencer has demonstrated, variations of this end of times scenario run through the hadith collections of Sahih Muslim (Book 41, nos. 6980-86) and Bukhari (4.52.176 & 177, and 4.56.791.) That is why the story is repeated in Article 7 of the Hamas charter, the document in which the Muslim Brotherhood explains that annihilating Israel is a religious duty. That is why the story is a favorite of Sheikh Qaradawi’s...

Forgive me if I don't take Andrew C. McCarthy (whoever the **** that is) at his word.

I'm a hard nut (yet respectful to all religions athiest) and my best friend is Muslim...

I know that you and other liberals would love to hang the monikor of evil nation around the neck of America, maybe out of guilt, or some other flaw in your moral compass, but let me assure you that no nation on this planet is perfect. There have been mistakes, but I believe in intent, and America has always stood for the greatest of intentions.

I love America as much as the next person, but in reality it can't be denied that the building of our nation often involved the blood-shedding of others. playdrive's example of Manifest Destiny is a great example.

Yep our ancestors were pure in spirit when they slaughtered thousands/millions? of Native Americans because they were non-Christian savages. Please. Admitting this doesn't mean that you think America is evil anymore than admitting your own faults doesn't mean you think you're evil.

I have one response to this statement.

"The Road To Hell Is Paved With Good Intentions".
