President Obama shares the stage with Jeb Bush in Miami

Friday, March 4, President Obama appeared on stage at Miami Central High School in Miami, Florida, with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan and ex-governor Jeb Bush to kick off "Education Month."

He spoke to the importance of investment in education, stating it as a priority even in tough fiscal times when budget cuts are necessary:
Pretty strange bedfellows, wouldn't you agree? But the fact is that education is an issue that knows no Democrat or Republican. You are either for it or against it, and doing it the wrong way has consequences that are no respecter of whatever political party you happen to support. Good to see some bipartisan action on this issue. Governor Walker of Wisconsin could learn a thing or dozen here. There are honest ways to address education without attempting to go medieval on people.

Kudos to both the President and Jeb Bush for putting their ideological differences aside, and getting involved in the education issue. Now why don't you two get married, and solve the gay marriage issue?

Money is not the answer to the education problems New York is #1 in spending per student and ranks 46th in SAT Scores.

The answer is in better teachers and wedding out the dead wood, and until Union power is cut back nothing is going change and I see this Fla. gig as a meaningless stunt that avoids the facts and the truth.

I don't know about that. For people on opposite sides of an issue to get together like that, I am sure that it is not just about money.

Florida has actually done a really good job of improving public education.

The answer is having a father in the home that will kick your ass for bringing home anything less than a B.

Nothing says "Bi-Partisan" like throwing good money at a bad resource. KUDOS!
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.
