Employers owe employees whatever they contract to owe them.
    I may be wrong.

Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

There are very few places I have worked where coffee wasn't provided. I am not sure why this is supposed to be getting my dander up.

Free coffee? Really? Wow. I became self-employed about 20 years ago, but when I worked in both the private and public sectors, employees had to contribute to a coffee fund to purchase coffee/tea supplies. Damn. No wonder every place is going broke nowadays. Do y'all know how much coffee costs now???

I work at a US Department of Energy facility (Fermilab) and free coffee has always been provided. The government also provides refreshments and souvenirs to facility tour groups.

Supporting the existence of unions and hating them for becoming too greedy are two different things. I support the existence of unions., I however think many have gotten too damn greedy for their own good.

And as far as this story goes, it's a non-issue. You act like the town was ordered to suddenly start giving free coffee to employees. According to your own source the board gave the priviliges back to the union after the board determined that the privilige was unjustly taken away by the town as retaliation for union members making unfavorable comments at a finance meeting
Whether or not the town provides coffee should only be up to the town.Employees are not not owed coffee.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Employers are required to not act in a retaliatory manner.
