About 9 times out of 10 when you see a completely run down 20 year old truck (which is very very old in trucking) it will be a mexican truck or a person of hispanic origin operating in the US.
Your average joe in Texas has a better than average chance of being killed by a Mexican trucker too.

I can't wait to see the result of poorly maintained cruising the freeways and being more apt than not to smuggle illegals not to mention drugs.

It's not been bad enough that bad enough that NAFTA cost us all at the grocery store and jobs in manufacturing, now truck industries and drivers will be under price pressure.

I imagine it will greatly compound the problem. Not that those issues are not already a problem. I know first hand a couple American drivers that have been caught doing this. Just this past year a former driver of ours got busted smuggling drugs and illegals from S. Texas.

They are currently under extreme price pressure. Since the recession freight has suffered very low supply. People are taking advantage of this and in many areas force trucks to take loads at a loss.

I would not drive that junk
So as long as the Mexican trucks are inspected and meet US safety requirements, you'll have no problem with them and you won't have any issue with them "taking freight away from US truckers." Right?
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

As long as they are held to the rules and laws Canadian trucks are. They can only get one load in the states to get them back to their country. The safety of their trucks is a major concern

Did you support Bush when he began the process in the first place? You know, this kind of back and forth cuts both ways.
