Texas Group Will Offer Scholarships To White Men Only

Don't mind his ignorance. Taipei is only the FOURTH largest city in Taiwan, for goodness sake...

Taipei City =/= Chinese Taipei.

Chinese Taipei - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Chinese Taipei is the designated name used by the Republic of China (ROC), commonly known as Taiwan, to participate in some international organizations and almost all sporting events, such as the Olympics, Paralympics, Asian Games and Asian Para Games. The international community commonly employs the term "Chinese Taipei" due to pressure by the People's Republic of China (PRC), commonly known as China, who prefer the name as it creates ambiguity about the independence and political status of Taiwan. It is seen as an important tool to influence international perception of cross-strait relations.

The Republic of China participates in most international forums and organizations under the name "Chinese Taipei" due to diplomatic pressure from the PRC. For instance, it is the name under which it has competed at the Olympic Games since 1979, and its name as an observer at the World Health Organization.

Taipei - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Taipei City (traditional Chinese: 臺北市; pinyin: Táiběi Shì)[1] is the capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as "Taiwan") and the central city of the largest metropolitan area of Taiwan. Situated at the northern tip of the island, Taipei is located on the Danshui River, and is about 25 km southwest of Keelung, its port on the Pacific Ocean. Another coastal city, Danshui, is about 20 km northwest at the river's mouth on the Taiwan Strait. It lies in the two relatively narrow valleys of the Keelung (基隆河) and Xindian (新店溪) rivers, which join to form the Danshui River along the city's western border.[2] The city proper (Taipei City) is home to an estimated 2,606,151 people.[3] Taipei, New Taipei, and Keelung together form the Taipei metropolitan area with a population of 6,776,264.[4] However, they are administered under different local governing bodies. "Taipei" sometimes refers to the whole metropolitan area, while "Taipei City" refers to the city proper.

First of all one does not discourage another by saying they are too much of what they are. That would be like a black person trying to discourage another black person by saying they are too black. UNLESS they is what they don't want to be. Look at the white people who are all in the "black" culture. Try telling some of them they are being too white and see if they get upset. I would like to see some kind of study on that, to see if there are white people who feel they are too white or get upset if told so.

I'm a White guy and no matter how many Black friends I have I will never be Black. I will also never be a woman or understand what their life experience might be. But I can often identify more with a Black man, or a Latino man, than I can with a White woman. But sometimes the opposite occurs too.

Ultimately we're just people doing the best we can.

Can you count population? Can you compare? Taipei is the FOURTH most populous city... You are the FAIL!!!

And Chinese Taipei is not the name of the country I live in... it is a coward's term forced on Taiwan...

Who cares? It's just a ****in stupid-ass name.

Ludahai does. He constantly complains about how evil everything from China is. I'd love to stop hearing his daily rants on the issue. Taipei has received American funding for its infrastructure, communications, educational system and ludahai has enough dumplings in his jeans to tell us that African Americans need to stop complaining about oppression and simply get their **** to get together. That's easy enough to say when the reason for your country's succes is directly related to being given the funding and technology denied to inner city schools during the same period where people in the US were still fighting for voting rights. The ridiculous conservative axiom of 'personal responsability' is just that; a ridiculous conservative axiom. It doesn't apply to small farmers who receive government help, it doesn't apply to countries who are dependent on the US to back them, it doesn't apply to anything other than whatever it is they want it to apply to.

What... are you even talking about? Did you follow the conversation? Or are you lost again?

Meh, the people of Chinese Taipei don't seem to have the necessary nuts in order to do anything about it. So how can you possibly tell who the cowards are? ;)

You're on an internet forum. You don't "hear" anything. If you don't respect someone else's opinion, don't read it. simple as that.

I agree with this somewhat, but at least engage him with a little respect instead of being a troll. If you really believe all that bull**** about bombing the crap out of Taiwan, and that the Communist Party isn't evil, then that is seriously ****ed up and you need to take a long hard look at reality.

If you actually knew how to read, you would note that it is China's GOVERNMENT that I believe to be evil, not everything from China. I LOVE China and many things about it. Unlike you, I have actually lived there.

Now as for U.S. funding, what funding has Taiwan received since 1979? And that funding was given to a dictator that repressed the Taiwanese people... Taiwan is a democracy today, NO THANKS to the United States... And as for Taiwan's infrastructure? Most of the infrastructure we enjoy today was built AFTER 1979... YOU are the one who needs to get his facts straight.

And as for "following the conversation", I noted that Taipei is the FOURTH largest city in Taiwan. You attempted to refute that, but YOU WERE WRONG!!! Once again, you have no idea what you are talking about.

Now, get back into that trash can and stop being such an ignorant troll...

If we dropped all race qualifiers from anything gov't, would that change things? I think so, but there is no way to test the theory. I keep wondering if in the effort to "even the playing field" we are not instead holding back the progress?

There is no question about this. It is human nature. People have a tendency not to want to give up an advantage. We are being huge hypocrites about equality. We are lumping everyone into groups, including whites, creating rigid definitions of the groups (stereotyping of you will), and deciding who get favors, smearing the groups based on the stereotypes. There is no true spiritual leader in this country on true equality. We have no spirit just laws. The differences have been exploited to the max for political power and political groups are not going to allow those differences to be reconciled. I believe that most people want to get along, want to be fair, want justice. We need to give each other a chance to show it and stop treating everyone in a certain group based on the lowest common denominator. **** happens. Not everybody is nice but given a chance most people are pretty decent I think.
