If we pushed for equal-rights when we emancipated them how different do you think things would be?
If didnt' enact jim-crow laws how different would thins be?
They'd be better, that's for certain.
Did you know that the IQ-ISO gap between blacks and whites is closing?
The gap use to be 15 points difference.
Now it's 9.5
We already have a black president.
But keep wearing your blinders thinking that black people aren't climbing out of the hole that we dug for them.

I blame it on Liberalism and people like Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson et. al. I've done just fine for myself in our system--before the Libbos came in and fixed the economy, that is.
Anyone that claims that a motivated black person can't make it America, with the help of Liberal do-gooders, is either a closet racist, or still too wet behind the ears to know how things work in the real world.
Have I been discriminated against? You bet. Have I picked up business from black customers, because I'm black? You bet your sweet ass.
Anyone that thinks that minorities are the only ones that are discriminated against and they are only discriminated against by whites has led too far sheltered-a-life and needs to get out in the real world.

Forever, I'm afraid.
Fear not! I'm the ggg-grandson of two slaves and I'm not going to let slavery hold me back!
Personally, I'm kinda glad for slavery in America, because my ancestors's sacrifice allowed me to live in the greatest country in the history of man. There's no way that I would have the same oppurtunities in Africa, that I do here in the United States.

Well if you think it was a long ass time ago - then why havent' we *all* recovered? We still have extreme issues with racism.
You want them to accept responsibility for their own situation.
And I want you to realize that we helped create their situation that they're suppose to be fixing.
Why is it so offensive to you that we work with them to fix things?
You know what the 'American reality' that I grew up in was?: Everyone is equal no matter what religion, race or gender.
The reality: that's a lie.
I actually want it to BE the truth and I see views like yours as just keeping it a lie.

Most of the ones who really can't make it in the "real world" are most likely out after their initial 2 year enlistment. On the other side the military can help turn people into those who can make it in the real world. I know I did/do better because of my time in the Navy.
