Is it your opinion we will not intervene militarily in Libya if the oil wells and pipelines are sabotaged?

I said that a the establishment of a no-fly zone wouldn't stop sabotage of oilfield infrastructure.

IMO, the military assets are probably being positioned to support a range of activities i.e., enforcement of any no-fly zones that might be created, delivery of humanitarian aid, etc., that do not include an invasion/military operation targeted at the Gadhafi dictatorship. I do not believe that the U.S. or NATO will carry out a military operation or invasion aimed at toppling the Gadhafi dictatorship. First, there is no overriding national interest for the U.S./NATO members to use military force to topple the Gadhafi dictatorship. Second, if the social media is reasonably representative (there is very little actual media coverage from Libya other than the state media that is controlled by the dictatorship), those seeking to topple the dictatorship have been explicit about wanting to do it themselves and without foreign intervention. Third, foreign intervention could allow the dictatorship to actually garner some support from quarters of Libyan society in that it would position itself as fighting against a foreign invasion so to speak. Currently, its arguments of international and Al Qaeda responsibility for the rise and spread of Libya's opposition movement are inaccurate and widely seen as lacking credibility.

That's going to depend on the level of success that the anti-government forces achieve. If the pro-government forces appear to be winning, then the anti-government folks may be begging for foreign intervention.

Wait, isn't Obama going to wait for a UN resolution for permission to use force? Where is the official declaration of war?

Is it too early to say Obama is a warmonger?
