This was a forgone conclusion. The best election money could buy and the Daley machine could fix.

There is a tactic being employed by extremists on the right wing that is attempting to take the charge of RACISM off the table in any discussion about anything in America. The goal of this is to negate a tool and weapon that has been employed to shine light upon the motivations and beliefs of some on the far right. The right believes that if they can continue to throw up roadblocks against the simply bringing up of the term, that it will be of benefit to them, silencing the other side and allowing them to proselytize without fear of contradiction in this one area.

This is but one example of the tactic being employed on this board.

Chaos - you ask me to answer my own question - which is absurd. I asked the question to the one person who can answer it. Only he can explain what is in his mind and heart. I cannot do it for him because it is not my mind or my heart.

The only "tatic" i see is the constant charge of racism by the extreme left.

Suggesting adpst is a racist is absurd and completely ignorant.

APDST said that the recent vote was made up primarily from the minorities that voted for Emanuel and then he stated that 61% of the population of the Chicago area was made up of minorities. That's what set this current string to the thread. Where's the racism there?

I don't have Chicago's population stats available but what would be racist about pointing out the population ethnic demographic?

PS -- Minorities didn't elect Emmanuel. He was blessed with poor opposition candidates; avoided much about specific issues due to his residency dispute occupying everyone; he raised an enormous amount of money to conduct his campaign; President Obama endorsed him. There was a very low turnout this election cycle -- which says to me that minorities didn't get out to vote much at all.

In the last wide-open mayoral race for the city of Chicago two decades ago, 68 percent of voters turned out to elect Mayor Richard M. Daley to his first term as mayor. On Tuesday, only 41 percent of registered voters came out, according to the Chicago Board of Elections.

The lower turnout was even worse than what Chicago election officials predicted the day before the elections. Chicago Board of Elections Commissioners Chairman Langdon Neal predicted a turnout of slightly more than 50 percent, a percentage already low by Chicago standards.

Because Libbos always see racism where it doesn't exist. Criticism of the minority community, or minority persons is off limits and will always be considered racism. It never fails. It didn't fail in this case.

It's a tool and a weapon that has been employed, at the expense of the minorities in our country. As long with anything, when you don't indentify the problems, those problems will never get fixed. Since it's racist to identify problems within minority communities, those problems will never, ever get fixed. Liberalism is the worst thing that ever happened to minorities in this country. Liberals are now better than the slavers; they're the new Jim Crow.

To be honest I was reading out of interest to see local US take on the election and was surprised to see accusations of racism being thrown out. I then took specific interest as APDST said it first as a throwaway but obviously Haymarket took him up on it. I'm asking out of curiosity.

The article you linked discusses voter fatigue and a change to voting systems - "Neal said contemporary elections differ from the 1989 elections because city workers no longer encourage people to vote, after a federal investigation led to the dismantling of that system."
 
This is like drug addicts voting on the legalization of drugs. A bunch of governmentally institutionalized people voted for the guy promising them the most handouts and excuses for their personal failures.

No surprise here.

So is apdst. So is my wife, and by default, so are my kids.

Unfortunately, apdst is an incredibly rare individual who understands the institutionalized racism that liberals perpetrate under the guise of "helping" them. It's downright cruel, and is solely responsible, in my mind, for the complete implosion of their family structure and community for minorities, particularly black Americans.

You can feel the frustration and angst in apdst's posts. He is a victim of liberals, constantly feeling like he has to "demonstrate" his core values. I admire that, even if I can't adequately comprehend what it must be like.

I'm a minority, too and I'm not on welfare, I'm not unemployed. I'm also not so ****ing stupid to think that a 35% unemployment rate within the black community is ok, either; nor am I going to ignore the fact. I'm also not going to ignore the fact that minorities make up 70% of the welfare rolls in the U.S. Let's face it, the Libbos have bought off all minorities with government handouts.

I also think it's highly chicken **** to call me a racist for pointing out those facts. I point out real live problems within my own community and I'm a ****ing racist? **** that ****!
