Much easier to bring what he has. Two pieces of paper is all he needs to bring. Getting some oldtimers out and about and to the polls is no easy task. Do you really want to make it even more difficult?

Takes more than two pieces of paper to get a drivers license. I want to make sure only legally entitled voters actually vote.

You're making a moutain out of a mole hill. 99% of the people you are talking about don't vote anyway and probably shouldn't. If they are too stupid to get a photo id, then they are too stupid to vote.

In WI you need birth certificate and proof of residency(a bill or something with your name and address on it to get an ID/drivers license. Cost 28 bucks for an ID.

People in nursing homes are not too stupid to vote. They just can't get around as easy as you.

Since photo IDs are issued to people using other forms of identification to identify themselves then those other forms of identification should be sufficient to vote. Why is that so hard to understand?

It's obvious that you don't want people to vote.

This is just more big government BS.
Since most people that have that law give out photo ID's for free the ederly are not affected. We have a program here that even has someone from the DMV (where we can get generic ID's) go to an elderly persons home and does all the paper work at the elderly's home. So, you really are stretching here.

So why can't they vote using the same identity documents they use to get the photo ID? You people are just adding an unneccesary step because they told you it was a good thing.

Photo IDs are created from non photo identity documents.

If you have someone go to every elderly/poor person and give them a photo ID free of charge, I'll support the law but it's still a waste of time and it's unnecessary. It's all just politics. They don't care if the votes are legit, they just care that their candidate wins.

Don't say that...There are plenty of people too stupid to vote even in nursing homes but they still do. My grandmother who is 75 votes strictly democrat. However-She agrees with almost everything Republicans stand for and when she learns its a rep. who said it or wants it passed she says "well they must have stolen the idea from democrats." She only votes the way her parents did and still doesnt understand its not the same politics anymore. So yes, some people are too stupid to vote.

    28 bucks in Wisconsin.
So they bring their birth certificate, SS card and another document to the DMV to get a photo ID. Why is that documentation good enough to get a photo ID, but not good enough to let them vote? Makes no sense.

I suppose they could have a camera at the polling place to create a photo ID for them so they could go into the voting booth.

Straw man... every state that has passed photo id voting requirements supplies free photo ids to low income people.
