CAIRO – Deep cracks opened in Moammar Gadhafi's regime Monday, with Libyan government officials at home and abroad resigning, air force pilots defecting and a bloody crackdown on protest in the capital of Tripoli. World leaders were outraged at the "vicious forms of repression" used against the demonstrators.

Gadaffy Duck is in his last days, as areas East of the capitol have now fallen to the protesters, Libya's own UN Diplomats are calling for Gadhafi to step down, and parts of the military are now refusing to fire on protesters. The government has resorted to bringing in African mercenaries to kill it's population. Civil War has broken out.

Gadhafi should be tried as a war criminal after this is over.

One more observation here. Since Libya is an OPEC country, this will affect oil prices, and therefore prices at the pump. Don't be surprised if you see gasoline hit $5.00 a gallon by this summer. HINT: Greater alternative energy development, anyone?

Article is here.

NOTE: I have read rumors in blogs that Gadhafi has fled the country, but I have not seen any substantiation to those rumors.

I believe he has been known to have left to another country. But I could be wrong.

Now he has a fatwa on his head.

From what I have heard, there was a rumor that he left for Venezuela, but that is evidently wrong, as stated by Venezuela and the fact that Gadhafi was on Libyan TV last night 2 AM local time.

I respectfully disagree. Tyrants like him, having held absolute power for a long time, don't relinquish it in fear easily. He'll go down viciously abusing and killing his own people whom he cares little to nothing about. Only if and when the end is inevitable will he raid the coffers and turn and flee.

That's the wrong hint. It should read...'Until more alternative energy solutions can be brought to the marketplace as commercially viable, anybody for drilling for oil wherever we have it with reasonable environmental regulations properly enforced to make us energy independent?'
(demonRATs in congress pay attention!)

Note: It is they who, at every turn in every administration, have blocked attempts at energy independence under the guise of being good stewards of the environment.
