Re: Hundreds of Libyans shot down

Rumor has it that Qadaffi may have already fled to Venezuela, according to British Foreign Secretary William Hague.

Yeah, I'm calling it now. It's over for Qadaffi.
Hopefully we can invade before it's all over.

That would be interesting, eh? Venezuela is doubting it, and Hague is backtracking, but I suspect perhaps he wasn't supposed to say anthing.

Reuters is reporting that Qadaffi's forces have withdrawn from the east, effectively conceding it to the protesters. They may be trying to bring reinforcements to Tripoli.

    A final act of desperation.

Hopefully anyway, the jig is up for Gadaffi.

So does your gut tell you these protests are spreading, or are they being orchestrated?

Gadhafi's hold on Libya weakens in protest wave - Yahoo! News
    Monday Feb 21
By MAGGIE MICHAEL, Associated Press – 2 mins ago

CAIRO – Deep cracks opened in Moammar Gadhafi's regime Monday, with Libyan government officials at home and abroad resigning, air force pilots defecting and a major government building ablaze after clashes in the capital of Tripoli.....
At sunset, pro-Gadhafi militia drove around Tripoli with loudspeakers and told people not to leave their homes, witnesses said, as security forces sought to keep the unrest that swept eastern parts of the country — leaving the second-largest city of Benghazi in Protesters' Control — from overwhelming the capital of 2 million people......described a scene of Intimidation: Helicopters hovering above the main seaside boulevard and pro-Gadhafi gunmen firing from moving cars and even shooting at the facades of homes to terrify the population....

Gadhafi, whose whereabouts were not known, appeared to have Lost the support of at least one major tribe, several military units and his own diplomats, including the delegation to the United Nations. Deputy U.N. Ambassador Ibrahim Dabbashi accused Gadhafi of committing genocide against his own people in the current crisis.

Warplanes swooped low over Tripoli in the evening and snipers took up position on roofs, apparently to stop people outside the capital from joining protests, according to Mohammed Abdul-Malek, a London-based opposition activist in touch with residents....

    Just something funny:

Muammar Gaddafi fears flying over water, prefers staying on the ground floor and almost never travels without his trusted Ukrainian nurse, a “voluptuous blonde,” according to a US document released by WikiLeaks late 2010.

Gaddafi's choice of bodyguards has been the subject of much media attention. His 40-member bodyguard contingent, known as the Amazonian Guard, is entirely female. All women who qualify for duty supposedly must be virgins, and are hand-picked by Gaddafi himself. They are trained in the use of firearms and martial arts at a special academy before entering service.

I don't know what this is supposed to mean dogg.

The Gadaffi Regime is like an episode of the Saprano's ok.

The issue of whether islamists may take over the country, and the cause of these uprisings are mutually exclusive. Trying to find a correlation?

    Good luck.
