Oh I have read up on Sherman Anti-Trust. Maybe you should read about it.

The "richest 1%" is a different group of people every year. This permanent group of rich people does not exist in reality for the most part. It's a made-up problem.

Your analogy is way off. The people who were against the stimulus weren't in favor of a smaller stimulus. They didn't want a stimulus at all. If it were up to them, there would have been no stimulus. So again: Do you think it's upstanding to accept stimulus funds after doing your best to make sure those stimulus funds never existed?

A better analogy would be this: A kid throws a fit and refuses to eat the meat and potatoes his mother cooked for him because he wants pizza and ice cream instead. But then once he sees his sister enjoying dinner, and his stomach starts growling, he decides to eat what was cooked for him. While the kid has the right to eat the meal, he also deserves to be called out for his hypocrisy. "See, little Sally? Little Timmy said those meat and potatoes were the worst thing in existence. That he'd rather die than eat them. Now he's enjoying them. I guess they weren't so bad after all".

It's like the argument presented to libertarians. If we're against taxation, should we accept government funds? I say yes, because we still pay taxes, so in effect it is our money, so why can't we take it back?

A robber comes into my house and steals all my money. He then gives me a plasma TV that he bought with the money. If I accept it, am I condoning his actions?

Simple concept, babydoll...get rid of the wealthy in the country, or get rid of the parasitic malingerers that have done nothing to prepare themselves to be productive (and Im not talking about the truly needy...the parasites suck the resources from those that truly need them. Which group would the country be better off without?

    Re: Where's the stimulus?

    today, monday, the 28th:

Vice President Biden confronted an obvious truth Monday morning as he addressed visiting governors: Not everyone there is crazy about the stimulus.

ďI know none of you liked the Recovery Act much, but I just want to start off by thanking the governors who've been here for the last two years,Ē Biden said at the White House, commending them for ensuring that there was little fraud in the thousands of stimulus projects in their states. "That's because of you," he said. "And it's because of the mayors."

Biden noted that "although thereís no Recovery Act" anymore, the White House will still maintain a relationship with states to work on the economy. "The recovery is under way, although I'm sure a lot of you, having to cut your budgets, donít feel it," he said. "Itís a very difficult time for you all. And I just want you to know that I think we can probably all agree on the major initiatives. We may have a different prioritization, but we all know we have to do something about the long-term debt. We all know that we have to do something about preparing ourselves to compete in the future in terms of education, innovation and infrastructure."
Biden: No governors like stimulus | POLITICO 44

we all agree we have to do something about long term debt, huh, mr biden?

well, since the administration took tax hikes off the table, and since it's committed our troops for the foreseeable in afghanistan, what's left?

are you sure these people know what they're doing?

Stimulus bill for economic recovery - what's the holdup? - Feb. 17, 2011
The majority went to GENERAL ELECTRIC to make jobs overseas, with a great deal going to States like Wisconsin (21 billion) to pay these Unions their Bloated Benefits and Salaries. I want to know where are the "Shovel Ready" jobs? The rest, the remainder is in a SLUSH FUND controlled exclusively by the WHITE HOUSE to use as a Campaign Tool in the upcoming election.

Those two groups are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

A great line from the Academy-Award winning film, Inside Job: An engineer builds bridges. A financial engineer builds dreams.
