Wisconsin Governor to Missing Democrats: Do Your Job

Wisconsin Governor to Missing Democrats: Do Your Job - FoxNews.com

Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, a Republican, called on the 14 Senate Democrats who fled the state instead of voting on a controversial anti-union bill, to return and do their jobs.

The boycott forced the state Senate to adjourn for the day without a vote on the bill.

I feel any elected official that flees his/her jurisdiction to avoid having to do their jobs should be fired.

and i feel any fleeing the state to avoid "more for the rich" legislation are heroes

I don't get it. If they don't like the bill, can't they just vote "no?" Don't tell me that this is another puerile "quorum" sit out. Can't get their way so they're gonna shut down the government. Totally lame, no matter which party is doing it.

And somebody should tell those stupid protesters that, duh, the state cannot afford to pay all of you, so either you take a cut in your fat, union-inflated salaries or a whole bunch of you spoiled fools (who should be damned happy just to have a job in this economy) are going to join the ranks of the unemployed.

I just hate this "I've got mine, I don't care what happens to them" attitude. It sucks.

I don't know much about this situation, but these people are paid to represent the people. If they can't show up and perform their job then they should get fired like anyone else.

It's about time that democrats stopped being so spineless. This is a good sign. Walker's bill needs to be destroyed and he needs to be recalled.

i wonder if the dems had simply prevented the rock heads from allowing bush to declare wah-wah on iran where we'd be now

This has nothing to do for "the rich". Dude spending is too high and these union members dont deserve a pension. Not in this economy. They need to do what every other human should do..... prepare for after retirement. This isnt a corporate greed issue. This is a tax payer issue. Its not like these workers are suffering because of their pay. Hell techers dont even work the whole year and they get paid more than ME! Screw THAT!

I think we need a new variant of Godwin's Law: Bush's Law. Seven posts into a discussion about Wisconsin politics and Oops, There It is!!!

no, under OUR form of government, reps. are to to vote what is BEST for their constituancy even if a majority think "american idol" something worth watching

no doubt you resent teachers make more than you.....people contributing to mankind deserve MUCH more.......on the other hand, how much do the gop babies such as those sitting on their ASSES speculating on gasoline futures deserve? apparently shills for the privlidged argue these miscreants create "wealth"

Also, attacking unions doesn't even fix the budget deficit. In fact, it doesn't even make up for Walker's tax cuts. It's a big lie to claim that this is all about "balancing the budget".

If they had any actual backbone they would've voted "NO" instead of fleeing like ******s.

They need 20 senators present in order to have a vote. 19 republicans are all voting for the bill. If no democrats sit at the vote then they cannot pass the bill. If they sit then the bill will pass. Obviously we don't want the bill to pass, so I support them boycotting the vote in order to force concession.

Touche, I stand corrected.

I am not into this whole "Survivorish" government system. Show up and do your job. If every republican votes the same way and every democrat votes the opposite, then we have the most idiotic democrats and republicans in office.

Maybe if these guys could get brains and vote based off of logic instead of whatever talking point their party is spewing at the moment we could get something done.

For the record, I am liberal and I am pro-unions, but this is just stupid.

Because after the midterms, there aren't enough Democrat votes to kill the bill. They know it and the only other option they have is to skeedaddle.

The people spoke. The governer and the legislature are carrying out the will of the people. That's how it works under our form of government.

How spineless, unprofessional, and undemocratic. These fools are essentially throwing an immature tantrum by cowardly fleeing their state in order to postpone a vote on a bill that needs to be passed. They can simply vote "no" and do their jobs as elected officials. These senators should be ashamed of themselves. They are abusing the political system and acting like spoiled children throwing a fit over the fact that they won't get their way. They need to return to their jobs, do their jobs, and grow up.

So much for democracy.

a "majority" voted to the invasion of iraq.....as lasy j dalton sang; "god bless the boys on 16th avenue"....often the majority be stupid

I think this qualifies as corrupt conduct in office, which under Wisconsin law, is an impeachable offense.

A, "majority", voted for Obama to be president.
