Oh, well I disagree. Saying she asked for it puts a tint on it that she deserved it in some way. That couldn't be further from the truth. It's more about putting herself in a bad situation. If a reporter was groped during the LA riots would you have been surprised? When anarchy is the law, bad stuff happens to good people.

It kind of reminds me of the NFL when female reporters started to complain about inappropriate comments from players while they were interviewing them in the locker room. Really? You send extremely attractive women into a locker room full of naked men and then act surprised that something inappropriate was said? Did they deserve it? No. Should anyone have been surprised? No.

You cannot put yourself into a bad situation and then act surprised about it. It doesn't make it right, it just is what it is.

You're going to compare what happened to her with a few comments in a locker room? She wasn't just groped, she was brutally raped. She had security with her, they were just overwhelmed. I don't entirely disagree with you that people can put themselves in a bad situation, but, in this case, no, nobody had any reason to expect this. Where's your outrage? Suggesting that she or anyone should have just expected this would make Sharia law proponents proud.

You know, I did not know she was raped. Even still, I am not surprised. Call me a bit of a pessimist, but a pretty girl walking around an area that is under total anarchy getting raped does not surprise me. How could it? They did it in broad daylight.

Again, none of that makes what happened to her right. She was not "asking for it". It just is not surprising and I think that's what the other poster was saying when they showed her picture.

You're telling me that when you read about this for the first time, your first reaction was, "No way..."?

If you had told me 40 years ago that the Conservatives would be standing up for women's rights while those calling themselves liberal were doing nothing but making excuses for it, I would have thought you were crazy.

    My, how times have changed.

Pat yourself on the back but you are arguing with yourself. No one is saying anything about her rights. Don't put words in my mouth.

You have been doing nothing but make excuses for a woman getting gang raped.

Back in my day , and actual liberal worth their salt would be rallying on her behalf and fighting against the misogyny that precipitated it instead of all of these blase' excuses you are offering.

Really? Show me where I made an excuse for her getting raped? Show me where I said it was ok? Before you go having an orgasm with yourself about liberals changing or some other Glenn Beck-like non sequitor nonsense, please, do yourself a favor and read.

All I said, again, was the I think the previous poster put up her picture to say, "Look how pretty she is and look where she was". There is no statement about morality there, approval, or even disapproval. They are just observations.

To be honest, I am surprised no journalists were murdered. When I heard about the sexual assault, I was not surprised. I am sorry if you were and if that offends you, but I was not surprised. Men can be... I am not sure I can think of the proper word to describe it. Lets just say men can go pretty low when given the opportunity.

Why don't we wait for him to speak for himself? Why choose that picture, do you think she was wearing that dress when she was doing the interview in the square?

Close. My first reaction was "un-****ing-believable". This wasn't supposedly a riot born of outrage like your LA comparison these were pro democracy "demonstrations". Supposedly there was security as well as the military there, so yeah, I was surprised this happened.
