A foriegner can't go into a country like Egypt and think they are somehow special or protected for the mere fact that she was not from there.

I don't think it has anything to do with "see, this is why women just aren't suited to go where men go." She shouldn't have been in a place where he life meant nothing.

I wish people would live in the real world and not in the fantasy world they create for themselves. (I am talking about the reporters and not you)

Have you ever been to Egypt? Egyptian are quite nice though they are very touchy and outgoing (even more than Americans). I'm Asian, and they seem to like that, always want to pinch my cheeks, whereas Americans want to hug when we meet, say goodbye etc. They definitely don't regard human as close to nothing. In Cairo and other touristy place like Luxor, Westerners are a norm.

No... what I see here is very Nieve Liberals (at CBS) thinking they were covering a simple democracy movement (which is what the dear leader told them)without considering the Radical Islamic element which is a large segment of the Egyptian people.

Personally I'm not at all surprised

In Islam this type of treatment of "Kafir" women is commonplace, just ask the Copts........ or pick up a history book.
Or you could put that book down, and buy a ticket to the Middle East to see for yourself that "seaxual assault" of "kafir" is nowhere near common place.

you get assholes anywhere. not just in egypt. i'm sure everyone is aware of the hundreds of thousands of sexual assualts that happen in the U.S. every year and i'm sure everyone is equally outraged about that right?

i hope she will be ok and recovers soon.

Why does your knee-jerk response have to be, "well, Americans do it too"? Are we not allowed to be upset about this? Well, don't worry, I'm sure nothing bad will happen to the guys who did this.

Anyway You must have missed where I said all rapists are scum, however, it takes a special kind of "boldness" to do that to a reporter in the middle of a news report. That suggests to me that it was more than a rape, it was a statement.

you really need to stop jumping to conclusions. i'm not the least bit worried that something bad might happen to them. i hope they are caught and held accountable for their disgusting actions.

I'm edgy? You're the one who's like, "Americans are worse". Why so defensive about this? You didn't do it, or is it that you're worried more about the negative impact on the world's view of the protesters than you are the impact on the victim?

where did i say Americans were worse? i didn't so stop lying. don't twist my words to suit your story.

i'm sure you are aware there were millions of protestors involved in the 18 days of demonstrations, marches and rallies. what happened to Lara Logan was disgusting. the actions of those animals should be condemned and anyone with any common sense would realize that the dispicable act of a few people does not respresent everyone who participated.

    do you agree?

I just know you. If it comes from the US or Israel, it's just worse.

No, I don't believe that everyone involved in the rallies are like these guys at, but I don't believe in trying to minimize what happened here either. To be honest, I'd like to know more of the story. Who was around, who was chanting "Jew" or maybe egging this on, if anybody.

lol clearly you don't know me. not at all. not worse. i always thought that patriotism has never been blind allegiance to people or policy. it's loyalty to an ideal - to principle. if you feel that an injustice has been committed, or ideals or principles have been betrayed, you should speak out in defense of them and speak out to preserve what you feel is great and speak out because of what you love about the country. the thing that makes america strong is what also makes it weak. americans are one of the most nationalistic and proud people out there and that's great because there is much to be proud of, but it also leads many to either choose to be ignorant of the actions done in the name of america or not believe anything bad written about the country. no one wants to feel guilt, and so, any viewpoint that may be in some way critical of a certian action of america is often responded to with some peoples backs up. many can't take a step back and see the point objectively.

at least that's how i see it x.
