PARIS (AFP) – French President Nicolas Sarkozy declared Thursday that multiculturalism had failed, joining a growing number of world leaders or ex-leaders who have condemned it.

"My answer is clearly yes, it is a failure," he said in a television interview when asked about the policy which advocates that host societies welcome and foster distinct cultural and religious immigrant groups...

President Obama will not denounce multiculturalism because he is a product of multiculturalism. Multiculturalism means no unity. No unity means division.

Multiracial societies can survive. They have what is called hybrid vigor. Each new flavor is added to the melting pot and infuses the whole to create something new and united. I have seen this in my own bi-racial family. Vigor.

Multicultural societies are different than multiracial societies. Multicultural elements never go into the melting pot. They instead maintain their divisions. Division produces disunity and separation. That is what Merkel, Cameron and Sarkozy have in effect said.
