"American-born Islamic cleric Anwar al-Awlaki and his group, al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula, now pose a more serious terrorist threat inside the U.S. than the original al-Qaida group led by Osama bin Laden, a top U.S. counterterrorism official said Wednesday.

National Counterterrorism Center Director Michael Leiter described the group as "probably the most significant risk to the U.S. homeland" in testimony before the House Homeland Security Committee..."

Anwar al Awlaki was born and raised in New Mexico. He's as American as apple pie. Al Awlaki was in repeated contact with US Army Major Nidal Hasan who killed 12 US soldiers and one civilian, and wounded over 30 others, on a US military base in Texas.

Al Awlaki was also the mentor of Farouk Abdulmuttalab the would be Christmas bomber who blew up his own underwear over Detroit. Al Awlaki was also in contact with a guy named Shazad the would be Times Square bomber. Shazad said his attempted bombing was in retribution for Obama's drone war over Pakistan.

Anwar al Awlaki lives in Yemen now. While he was still on US territory the US Govt. unwittingly invited him to a conference in Washington, DC after the 9/11 attacks.

So an American citizen has now displaced Osama bin Laden as Public Enemy No. One. I wonder why an American is trying to kill other Americans? The whole world wonders.

I believe our biggest threat is from within, and those who wish to in our Capitalist System and replace it with Socialism/Marxism.

I see Obama putting together coalitions with lies and false promises and Dismantling our Constitution a slice at time until there is nothing left except the New World Order and we will be slaves and poor.

I see the Tea Party as possibly being the answer to stopping this nonsense, before it's too late.

All of Islam made themselves our enemy we didn't do it. Ye our leaders made mistakes and backed Dictators but the people as a whole do not agree with those policies, but listening to and doing the Bidding of a follower of Blaxk Liberation Theology is the wost thing we can do.

Bin Laden has not been the "greatest threat" to the US since early 2002 when Bush wanted to go into Iraq.

As for the greatest threat.. I would call it equal between Islamists and radical right wing shoot first never ask questions later Americans.

UBL's dead. He's been dead for years.

Right wingers are America's greatest hope. One day, when you grow up and travel more than two miles away from your village, you'll understand that.

Technically, those 2 things are incompatable...

So you believe Obama is a dictator, who sits in the oval office and decrees what citizens shall do, and not do, and he is the all powerful one.

It's times like these where your critisism, actually makes Obama more powerful then he is.

In short, you give him far to much credit.

You have the house of representatives, the president has to go by them to. Or did you forget how your own goddam system of government works?

All of Islam made themselves our enemy we didn't do it.

All of Islam? I really don't know what universe you live in.

Ye our leaders made mistakes and backed Dictators but the people as a whole do not agree with those policies, but listening to and doing the Bidding of a follower of Blaxk Liberation Theology is the wost thing we can do.

OH YES! That's the Ticket.

I love hearing that one. Still my absolute favorite of all the unbelievable crap people are willing to say against Obama. There is so much you can critisize him for that's real, you really don't have to go into La La land to find it.

He's not a Black Liberation Theologist...

Besides this whole New Black Panther episode, which I'd like to know more about, he hasn't done anything in favour of blacks, blacks still account for nearly 40% of the prison population, he didn't swing open the doors to their cells :coffeepap

How about people with courage and good ideas?

Not every person who stormed the beaches of Normandy, were "conservative".

99% of those are Rightists. So far, the American Left has come up with more bad ideas than good ones.

Elections come and go, by that logic

Did you notice the results of 2008?

That they do and in 2009, the people decided that the Leftists aren't doing such a hot job.

And in a few years they may decide that the "rightists" aren't doing a good job.

Politics is played back and forth, as in life, both parties suck, I'd be ashamed to call myself either.

Only 2 choices? That must BLOW!

That would be true, weren't it not for the fact that the Dems held a majority in Congress for 50 years, prior to 1994.

Okay....

What does that have to do with anything?

People voted right? And they decided to keep that way, besides the Democratic party of 1960 something, is not the same democratic party of now, just like the Republican party of 1994, is not the same as it is now.

That's right, it's more Left wing now and the people have rejected it, for obvious reasons.

We're number 1!

Hahaha, but the greatest threat to our liberty and freedom is not this dude. It's the government itself. This guy is just a piss ant terrorist, they can't accomplish ****. The government, that's what you gotta look out for. It has well more direct ability to affect our rights and liberties then some asshole in a cave.

So lets go back to the point at hand. You're arguing some how, that the only people in America who are good and that can "save America", are "Rightists".

This assertion is incorrect, based on your own personal bias.

That is all.

Thing is, there's this disturbingly large portion of the population that actually thinks that way. Classic absolutism. My way is the right way, therefore everyone else's ways are the wrong ways. People who want to do things the wrong way are bad people, therefore everyone else is bad.

Remember that one dude who said homosexuals and Islamic extremists are allies? Classic. I think these two groups are bad, therefore they must both be allied against me! I guess some humans never evolved past binary thinking.

Well we're ****ed. Gonna end up with some form of Theocratic, imperial, big brother type of expansive, large and expensive government. Thanks, but no thanks.

Never said, "only". However, it's obvious that the Lefft wing isn't going to be America's greatest hope. The American people have recognized that and are speaking out.

How you figger that?

That's rich, coming from you. :rofl

Well who do you think starts the wars? It wasn't the left. How much did we spend on that thing? How much are we still spending on that mistake? And all the rhetoric is for more. More more more more more. All that stuff costs money and lives. It's the religious...what now? Right? Oh yes. And what do they like? Religious laws. So and so can't get married because in the bible it says X. Blah blah blah. Give some of theose people their way and it'll be illegal to be an atheist in this country and no one could ever mention evolution (I'll never understand the anti-science folk). Don't sit there and pretend that you don't expand government, you just want it expanded in ways you like. The deficit is where it's at in part because of the right.

Face it, the "right-wing" lost all integrity when it pulled a 180 on its principles. It's a big government, big spending, big deficit, big brother party.

In short, the government is not the solution, the government is the problem.
