Rep. Giffords speaks for first time since shooting

Awesome.

But I can't get my mind off that little girl.

I was shocked to see her hubby is planning on going back into space. Seems like tempting fate, if you ask me. Reckless.

I hope she doesn't come around enough to see the shuttle explode...again.

We all know incredible stories of miracles from the Bible etc. and here is a true story we all get to see as it unfolds before us.

I couldn't be happier with this outcome o9f this portion of the story.

It's not reckless, it's how it works my friend.

I've told this story many a times, but back in 1982 my mother became ill, cancer. Took about 18 months to kill her. My father? Flew F-4 Phantom II's for the Air Force. The last few weeks, my sister and I said our good byes and never saw her again. The cancer had hit her spine and was rapidly moving up. The last two weeks of her life she was in terrible pain and could not move, only see out of one eye. What did Dad do? He got up in the morning, saw us kids off to school went and flew up to three sorties a day, got home, made sure we did our homework, ate and went to bed. He'd then head to the hospital and sit with her and tell her about our day. He did that everyday till she passed away. After a week of mourning, he was back out there, doing one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

No, he's doing what's RIGHT. I'd of been shocked if he DIDN'T go up and fly the mission. She understands that, all the good ones do. And so does he. I salute him.

My prayers for the continued recovery of Rep. Giffords. And deepest condolences for those that died and their families in this tragic event.
We should at the same time, give our thanks to those who took action, to prevent even more deaths, their bravery, is something that every American should take pride in.
