It looks like the Hoplophobes in Hawaii do not want toy guns being sold to children.

If Hawaiian State Rep. Scott Saiki gets his way, guns will be outlawed in Hawaii. Toy guns for kids, that is. Adults can still buy toy guns. Presumably, it is still safe to give them to children.

The bill has had its first reading and has been referred to the judiciary committee where,
hopefully, it dies.

SECTION 1. Chapter 709, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

"§709- Sale of toy guns to minors prohibited. (1) It shall be unlawful to sell, attempt to sell, or offer for sale a toy gun to a minor under eighteen years of age; provided that it shall be an affirmative defense to any prosecution that the:

Love how they leave out his party! Bias much?

Also, this guys a moron.

Surely this is a violation of The Toy Constitution.

It's a stupid law, but I don't think it'll change much, kids don't usually buy their own toys anyway.

Great, now the only kids with toy guns will be the ones who acquired them illegally. The good kids will no longer have any means to protect themselves -- we may as well stick those little darts on their foreheads ourselves (and give 'em a super-soaking while we're at it).

Somebody please slap this man and when he looks at you with a surprised face slap him again and keep doing it until he wakes up from his trance.

In other news, 20 people were killed at a McDonald's when an 8 year old child went postal with a plastic machine gun.

Who cares what his party is?]Plain simple fact is the law is stupid.

If you are a Hoplophobe then it makes perfect sense to keep kids from buying toy guns. In their minds it probably helps get rid of that gun culture that they so despise if they can take a steps towards keeping kids from buying toy guns.

Hoplophobes don't really follow logic that well. That's why they try to enact anti-2nd amendment laws under the assumption that criminals will somehow start obeying the law.
