Yeah... obviously the employers are trying to break the law, and know it's illegal. Why should they get a free pass to keep trying?

I don't think anybody here is arguing such places should be shut down for MISTAKENLY hiring an illegal. Employers are supposed to ask you certain questions before giving you a job. Are you old enough to work, are you old enough to work full time... are you permitted to work in the US?? If somebody gives falsified information to the employer about their immigration status or citizenship, then they are committing fraud.

Employers shouldn't have to detect and report fraud... nobody is arguing that, and fraud is already a crime. Charge the person committing fraud with fraud, not the employer they mislead... being mislead is not a crime.

Employers who knowingly hire illegals should obviously be punished, but let's stop acting as if they are the problem and their punishment is the only solution to the problem.

What does that have to do with xenophobia?

Here I will post a definition seeing how you love to use incorrect definitions and make false claims about words.
Xenophobia | Define Xenophobia at Dictionary.com
an unreasonable fear or hatred of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange.
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

No one is saying that the employer is the sole root problem but there are people who believe the employer should be left alone. To properly tackle illegal immigration, one also must debate the minimum wage and entitlement programs as well.

How is this relevant? My view is that if your stupid enough to visit a country that isnt exactly stable nor safe and you get killed its no one's fault than your own.

Re: Immigration probe of Chipotle widens

I've noticed a lot of focus being on employers of illegal immigrants, and illegal immigrants themselves. when you are discussing a law that everyone is required to follow, i think it's also important to look at the implications of legal residents and their employers.

If i'm going to hire a neighbor for the summer to work for my cement company, i now have to provide a ton of personal information on him to the government. how about a form to fill out to make sure i don't hire a drug user, or a thief, or a murderer.

while i agree that people shouldn't be allowed to employ people people illegally, we do have a notion in this country of innocent before proven guilty. please remember this when your fears of foreign invaders brings you to lessen the value your freedoms.

Some of the perks with hiring illegals is the fact you can pay them sub-standard wages with no benefits and treat them like crap. They are here illegally what they are they going to do complain to a government agency that they are being taken advantage of and mistreated? They can't. Abolishing or lowering minimum wage and entitlement programs is not going to do anything to curb illegal immigration.
