It's goning to get ugly in Eqypt!

Police are firing on demonstrators at the Interior Ministry building in Cairo, journalist Ian Lee tells CNN. Lee said he was standing over a man who appeared to have been shot in the head.

It's been fairly mild up until now. I see things taking an ugly turn soon unless Mubarak steps down. However this arrogant tyrant has been in power too long and won't give up without a fight. I also think he's totally out of touch and has no respect for those that are protesting.

As an American I'm ashamed we once again backed a tyrant for our selfish interests.

Yup, it's called blowback, the one thing that Ron Paul has been warning us about for more than 2 decades.

You two hit the nail right on the head!

Sadly as wise as Ron Paul is he's considered a nut by many people.

Ron Paul isn't the only one that believed supporting dictators is a bad idea.

How has Iran worked for you. We stopped backing the Shah and look what happened. Remember all of the gulf states are monarchs or dictators, how about throwing them oberboard and see what happens to western economies.

We should not have never propped them up in the first place. The CIA put the Shah in power. That is what created the hatred of the USA.
We stopped backing the Shah after the revolution started. Should we have sent him billions more to kill his citizens?
It's immoral and hypocritical to support dictators.

The Gulf States are unlikely to face the same problem as stagnant economies like Tunisia, Egypt, Jordan, and Yemen. The Gulf States are all awash with petrodollars and generally have a high level of human development.
    Are you coming to bed?
    I can't. This is important.

As long as they spread the wealth there should be no problem.

The Gulf States have a large underclass of immigrant Shia who do the manual labor. It wouldn't be difficult at all for the Iranian behemoth to instigate trouble.
