Chinese Pianist Plays Propaganda Tune at White House

to paraphrase...

Steve: A Chinese pianist playing an anti-American song at a State dinner isn't personal?
Dalton: No. It's a patriotic piece of music, played to elicit a prescribed response from the Chinese who hear it.
Steve: What if somebody plays a song calling my mama a whore?
Dalton: Is she?

When did China become the enemy?

PLA General Xiao threatened a nuclear attack on the US mainland during the Taiwan crisis of 1996. The threat was repeated by PLA General Zhu in 2001 after the EP-3 knock down. Neither General was ever reprimanded.

US Army General MacArthur threatened a nuclear attack on China in 1950. He was immediately relieved of his command and retired.

Are you familiar with PLA doctrine?

Should Walmart be charged with treason?

That was not why he was dismissed. In fact, the Joint Chiefs authorized nuclear strikes on China in the event airstrikes were launched from the country. McArthur was relieved of his command because he kept lambasting the policies of his superiors in the media.

When did China become the enemy?

When China decided to embark on a deliberate neo-mercantilist economic policy designed to economically destroy the United States... and they are doing it and the Americans are letting the Chinese take them to the slaughter... pathetic...

If you knew what mercantilism was, you'd know it wouldn't mean becoming one of the largest trading nations in the world. So by "neo-mercantilism" I'm guessing you mean the exact opposite of mercantilism.

You haven't noticed how difficult the Chinese make it for American-made products to penetrate their domestic market? Part of their neo-mercantilist economic strategy.

It's sad that they can produce goods and ship them halfway around the planet for far cheaper than we can produce those goods. That's global wealth disparity for ya.

More example that you can't just "give the world a big hug" like Obama and his minions believe, and everything will be okay.

China isn't interested in friendship. They are having a huge rofl episode over this back in the homeland.

Obama in their eyes is a pathetic ***** of a man.

I hope you are holding every President accountable for this from Nixon forward.

I think the episode was probably just purely funny. They do have the internet in china you know. Is it possible they themselves consider the tune silly at this point in time? Probably. Unfortunately... its... A PROPAGANDA TUNE OE NOE! Unfortunately, thats why it was funny. If the chinese cried tears of patriotism I'd be a little more worried. It seems alot of right wing internet news is running away with this. But these are also the type of sites that have full screen popups that I've won an ipad.

^It seems that right wingers in the states and in China are frothing at the mouth at eachother everyone else probably had a good time.

The internet in China is rigorously restricted.
