I bet that Obama is going to go on Chris Matthews for an interview... probably on another topic. Then Matthews is going to 'attack' Obama for not showing his birth certificate, and then Obama's going to be like 'no, it's right here...' and pull it out, and then go into a spiel about how people only attack him because he's a black guy or something like that.

Why else would the media jump on what was effectively a dead issue months ago with this new energy??

Interesting aside; a buddy of mine in Kanuckistan cannot use his passport as primary identification to get a driver's license, yet here in the USA you can be president without proving you are American born.

He has passed every legal test to be president of the US. There is simply no point in trying to appease idiot conspiracy nuts. Any one not now convinced never will be. Obama is doing the exact right thing and not giving them the attention they so desperately want. At this point it has gone past ludicrous, and entered the stage of pure stupidity.

Only 42% of the nation absolutely believes he is American born... leaving some 60% with doubts to some degree. The belief is also bi-partisan, with of course Libs in the minority at 15% of them not ascribing to his absolutely being born in the USA.

So you're saying 60% will be narrow minded like the "Bush Lied People Died" Libs? I think not, but opinions are like assholes... everyone has one.

It does not matter how many people believe stupid stuff, it lends it absolutely no more credence. Argumentum ad populum is a logical fallacy and as such your argument is of no real merit.

I'm sure you put a lot of effort into that, but it wasn't what I asked, I was asking for proof that you don't have to prove your citizenship to be POTUS.

Is he a US Citizen, 99% sure there is nothing that's gonna negate his citizenship on that document.

Is there something that would be embarrassing to him personally? Like his Parents aren't whom he claims or some other issue like that? More likely.

What on earth makes you think that him releasing his birth certificate would settle the issue? He already released one, and every birther nut claimed it was a fake, what makes you think that wouldn't happen again? The nuts've gotta have something to believe in, and no amount of truth is gonna stop that.

That's' because 60% of americans are certifiable lunatics because they have a gut feeling that there's something wrong with the fact that Obama's been withholding the long form BC... No wonder america's falling apart, it's the global nuthouse... at least according to some people.

Funny, all we hear from many of the types in this thread are how you don't "appease" people who are unreasonable....and then they scold Obama for not "appeasing" unreasonable conspiracy kooks who have had multitudes of evidence ALREADY dropped on them and have proven, time and time again, that they will just come up with an excuse why to believe it.

No, its FAR more reasonable to believe that a man made it through a Primary where you have multiple opponents digging into your past, nominated for the Presidency of a major party where that party would then dig for skeletons in your past, running against the other major party who would begin to dig heavily into your past, not to mention a multitude of high priced PAC's that would begin digging into his past, ALL without having anything substantial dug up. And in the process off that managed to fake or manipulate old newspaper articles, official documents, and various witnesses while directing an entire states government to perform a coverup.

I mean, that makes a TON more sense than believing he is a citizen and is just tired of appeasing kooks and partisans who refuse to believe common sense or any evidence that has been put forth.

You have tendency sometimes to mis-characterize things. Point of fact, I have no theory about this "conspiracy". Truth is, this looks likes this matters to you a whole hell of a lot more than it matters to me.

Who'd've thunk following the law would make someone look like such an idiot? But I'll give Gov. Ambercrombie an "A" for effort; the man's heart was in the right place. Still, I think as Governor he should have access to the birth records. It's not that complicated a thing to do. So, he can't show the President's vital records to the public. He can at least review them and confirm or deny the President's U.S. citizenship and natural born status. Simply state for the record that he has seen them and reaffirm what his predecessor has already affirmed on the record. Simple.

because there was never any doubt about the other candidates. it has nothing to do with him being black. the birthers would still be acting stupid if the conspiracy was that he had been born in Ireland, rather than kenya.
