Do they represent all of the French military? I've met some US soldiers who are the scum of the earth as well. That doesn't mean every soldier is scum.

The conduct of the French soldiers confirmed my opinion of the French based on experiences with them in France, and business deals with French investors.

I've also met a nice loving mother who was from France. We shouldn't judge an entire group of people based on the conduct of a few people. Investors in America can be pretty scummy too.

I once knew a nice french mother. She was; kind, beautiful, exotic, educated, did I mention beautiful, considerate, beautiful, a great mother, beautiful. She was married to a former naval officer. He taught at the same school I did. I just loved her. Unfortunately, so did one of the school board members.........literally. Oh, well. I'm not judging an entire nation by that woman. If I did france would be beautiful........and kinda' slutty. {sigh}

There are lots of nice people in France. But the national character of the French has become weak in foreign affairs. French valor is best represented by the Maginot Line, and not the Arc de Triomphe.

My daughter in law is Viet/Chinese. Her parents still celebrate the victory of the Vietnamese over the French at the Battle of Dien Bien Phu in 1954.
