covering pre-existing conditions screws the entire concept of insurance

Fail as you continue to reveal you have no clue how insurance works and doesn't work.

wtf would i buy insurance if I can wait til the doctor tells me I need a kidney transplant or brain surgery?

hence the mandate... finally, you're catching on.

It was, after all, a concept developed at the heritage foundation...

That's accurate. I haven't watched C-Span in ages. WAY too slow for me. Doesn't NV mean "no vote"?

Because you cant always plan these things ahead of when you need them. We also need to focus more on prevention. What is your solution?

This is pretty accurate. And has been going on for decades. I don't remember the last time I actually voted FOR someone.

On this board, most of the conservative vision of liberalism comes across as cartoonish. Be nice of folks actually stuck to discussing the philosophy they actually KNEW.

You seem to be operating under the assumption that politicians are omniscient and are able to carefully calculate the political ramifications of everything they do. That assumption is not accurate. Perhaps they assumed that if they ran away from health care reform, their chances of reelection would improve...I don't know. Why ever it was, it didn't work out very well for most of them.

If the American public is so furious about insurers no longer being allowed to kick them off the registers when they get sick and/or discriminate against their preexisting conditions, then why isn't this reflected in any recent poll on the subject? At most, there is a lukewarm plurality of opposition to the health care reform bill. And even among those who oppose it, a substantial number of them wanted an even MORE expansive health care reform law.
