The people that voted the Republicans in, by a land slide, are hoping that they will mend the economy and take Obamacare even farther? Is that it?

i don't think you are understanding my point

you say that republican healthcare reform is almost as "ambitious" as obama's

but they would have never made any significant moves for health care reform if hr2 never came about

now they see that most people want a lot of those reforms, even some repubs do

so they feel pressured to finally act and do what is good for the country

thank b hussein obama for that

we'll never know, because all republicans, from sarah palin to scott brown and olympia snowe, felt THIS bill was a pig

that's why the party in power had to resort to a CRAM

    It would "affect their base".
the gop base, as measured in the districts and state houses across the land, is, today, well, pretty much across the land

    Exit polling says otherwise:

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of those who voted in today’s elections nationwide favor repeal of the national health care bill passed by congressional Democrats in March, including 48% who Strongly Favor it.

The economy was a big issue as well, but health care was higher. Both were topped by a general overall anger at the way the federal government is operated.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.... John Rogers

health care needs to be radically changed

the thing about conservatives is they don't like change

thats why conservatives are not responsible for any significant event in the history of this country

liberals started the american revolution (the land owning, religious conservatives were called loyalist back then)

a liberal by the name of abe lincoln freed the slaves (back when republicans were liberals)

and liberals started the civil rights movement

now, another liberal, b hussein obama, has started health care reform

the conservatives are good for certain things (which is why I say im centrist)

but liberals are good when the country needs change

I find it hilarious that Republicans think they will win the Senate and Presidency in 2012. You said you would win the Senate this past year but it didn't happen, and neither will this happen.
