AZ shooting victim arrested for making death threats against Tea Party leader

Re: Shooting Victim Threatens Tea Partier

This brings back the ancient saying. When you point the finger of blame at someone, there are three pointing back at you.

Re: Shooting Victim Threatens Tea Partier

Why don't any of YOU feel something for Fuller as a victim? He's struggling to deal with what happened to him - no, he's not doing the right thing - but he needs HELP (by this I mean he needs therapy and support) - not judgment.

victims of all different tragedies deal with guilt, anger, frustration, heartbreak, and even survivor's remorse - Some even commit suicide. They need HELP and support - not ridicule and judgment.

I hope he pulls through - I hope that he can let go of the anger and accept what's happened and actually piece his heart and mind back together.

Why is everyone else reading into this sentiment of mine and seeing that I'm acting out of line and horribly wrong for WANTING him to be OK in the end? Yes - I hope and pray that Fuller can recover from his physical and mental trauma.

And so should all of you.

I LOVE anvils. I always wanted to drop one on someone's head, watch them squish real flat and then blow themselves back up, lifesize, by blowing into their thumb. That would be COOL!

You all want me to go over the 5 stages of grief with you? Fuller is in the Anger stage. It is very easy in this stage to blame others, sometimes those who had nothing to do with what happened, for the tragedy.

Now, there are some of you who want to politicize this... just as you have been doing for days at DP. You all are part of the problem and your comments are idiotic, ridiculous, and demonstrate that you don't care one iota about what happened. All you care about is using the incident to say "see, those OTHER guys are bad". Guess what? YOU'RE the pot calling the kettle black.

I feel bad for Fuller. He is definitely having some grief and PTSD issues right now and needs to be talking to someone. What he said/did was absolutely wrong. I'm sure a few partisan hacks will use it to further their agenda, but them doing so just makes them look like the foolish hacks they are. There are certainly some of those folks in this very thread.

Arizona Shooting Victim Criticizes Palin, Beck and Fox News | Media Matters for America

I can't believe I'm posting a link to MM.
Maybe someone should lock me up because I must be losing my mind.
Anyway, this Fuller sounds dangerous to me and if all we learn from this is that we need improvement as far as diagnosing and treating the mentally ill, that would be a good thing. This guy may show up at a Sarah Palin Rally and take out as many people as possible.
I understand the police released him? :(

I tried that once. Didn't work for me, either. :(

Re: Shooting Victim Threatens Tea Partier

Grim. Your post defines irony. You are doing exactly what you are claiming others are doing. You are part of the problem.
It's SOP....

I just don't want him hurting anyone. I think Loughner's responsible for his actions. I feel the same way about this guy.

No, the irony is in that certain left wing pundits seem to now have created the very atmosphere they wrongly bashed the TEA party for.

Actually, if they can create the atmosphere and are to blame, then they are also right about political rhetoric.

I think I am one of the few left who actually blame the perpetrators themselves for their actions.

You are correct. The more I'm reading about Fuller, the more I am convinced he is having some sort of PTSD reaction... not surprisingly. He needs some observation and treatment, probably immediately.

Who remembers the awesome scene from the movie All That Jazz where the comedian does the long skit on the 5 stages of grief while the guy goes through them?

No Cap. What some of us are trying to say is we Conservatives along with Palin, Rush, Beck are innocent of all charges and lies from the media are something we are not going to put up with.
Now we have lives being threatened because people have been led to believe we have blood on our hands. Hell, even Dana Perino received E-Mail saying that exact same thing.

Never saw the movie, but it sounds funny.

I agree but it looks like he was suffering from PTSD before Tuscon. It's in my link to Media Matters

Actually - if a victim who suffered wants to blame the party then I'm all for it . . . I never judge what someone in that situation thinks or feels and I won't hold it against them.

It's everyone else not directly affected that needs to stop the ridiculous rhetoric - but if a victim is hurt and angry then I'm not about to encourage them to *not* express that.

I 1000% disagree! This man SHOULD be SENSITIVE to what happened! Not the opposite!!!
I detest this. Every RATIONAL person, democrat and repubs, should know this violence is created by a CRAZY son of a bitch!!! :soap

Just wanted to make one portion of your post more noticeable:2wave:.

No Barb, you're not. If this is all you were saying, I have no problem with it. Specifically because you are correct. Conservatives, Palin, Rush, Beck, and the Tea Party had zero to do with what happened, and anyone who says different is a left wing hack who is doing nothing but policizing a tragedy to "stick it" to the other guy. I have nothing but disdain for these folks, both here and in the media. But what you are doing is going a step further. Instead of just defending yourselves against the lies and idiocy, you are producing the same lies and idiocy towards the left. Makes you all look just as bad and perpetuates the problem. You want it to stop? Keep defending yourselves against the stupidity, but stop the ridiculous attacks.

If that's the case, than this situation would have triggered him in a HUGE and dangerous way. He needs treatment, probably immediately.

Edit: I just read Barb's link (I tend to avoid MM at all costs). This guy needs mental health assistance.

It is a shame that what happened to this guy caused him to do this. I hope he can recover from the shooting and get back to his normal life before he does something that will forever change his life.

He's talking to plenty of people.

"I've gone through at least a dozen video sessions. I've got ABC, CBS and NBC and The New York Times and the New York Post." He also spoke with Democracy Now.

Re: Shooting Victim Threatens Tea Partier

The liberals and their lies are coming home to roost...
Great job people... Pat yourselves on the back and we'll all wait for the next time you incite violence with you lies and malicious rhetoric.

The guy is a stupid moron. I knew this was bound to happen but surprized how quickly.

To go to a public meeting with a News team there and basically make a threat is stupid as putting crosshairs on your opponent on the internet.

I always say, don't make the threat unless you are willing to carry it out and pay the consequences.

We are probably going to see the tit for tat game. The country is divided right down the middle. It is evident by Giffords being in the hospital that political figures of both sides are gonig to have to avoid public exposure.

So? How does that refer to anything I posted? One of the thing that grief counselors suggest is that the person grieving tell their story over and over, helping them to understand it and purge the emotions. I don't think that HOW he's doing it is helpful... no news agency is going to care about his mental health. They just want a news story that will incite others... into another news story. He needs to be talking to a mental health professional. I thought that was pretty clear.
