Yes, most relatively mainstream libertarians are like that.

Most EXTREMIST libertarians think the government as a whole is corrupt and needs to be done away with, that the governments are trying to create a one world order, that corporations are running our society.that 9/11 was a government inside job, that the "fed" is an evil manipulating force to enslave us, etc. These are ALL extremist libertarian view points.

Its just a ludicrous to suggest or give the impression however that he was spurred or inspired by Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, or any other mainstream politician on the left. The extremes that this ideology, and that this individual seemingly, opperate in is far and away from the mainstream definition of "far right" and "far left". It is at such a far reaching place that it meshes extremes from both sides and extremes found in neither as.

It seems like the guy focuses on bashing the media and distancing himself from blame, yet he doesn't really condemn the actions or say that Zietgeist doesn't support this. He's a scumbag and so is his "documentary."

Here's just part of what he had to say.

"Make no mistake: The Social System is to blame for the rampage of Jared
Loughner – not some famous online documentary which is known as the most
viewed documentary of all time in internet history. Are the other 200
million people who have seen the film also preparing for murder sprees? I
think not".

Jared Lee Loughner is a psychopath and will most likely spend the rest of his life in a home for the criminally insane. Blaming "The Social System" for his mis-wired brain is no better than those kooks blaming Sarah Palin. What a piece of work this guy is!

I disagree. This zeitgeist movement is purely based upon Marxist ideology and the two movies, which I watched in their entirety, advocate nothing more than a new twist on global socialism/communism.

It seeks to replace capitalism with a world where everything is owned equally by everyone. Watch the last ½ hour of the second movie and then tell me this is a libertarian movie/movement.

Well, he wouldn't comment on it until his own work became involved. He probably didn't think the media was being bad when it pitted the blame on Palin or Loughner...but when his own work is thrown in there-watch out.

None of this was surprising to me.

I'm not familiar with him or his work, but he certainly thinks he's special, that's for sure.
 
Well, the thing is....a writer, documentarian, public intellectual, etc. has to respond regarding his work, or at least feels tempted to do so. Then when you get the conspiracy theory stuff, it just gets exponentially worse, because they absolutely think they are trying to wake not just their audience up, but the whole world up.

This is a good point. If you watch the Zeitgeist movies Peter Joseph created, the shooter’s YouTube videos, face book page and reported school outbursts gain some context.

I think it would be just as wrong to blame Peter Joseph for this tragic event as it is to blame Sarah Palin or Glenn Beck but it’s obvious that Zeitgeist had more of an influence on this young man’s deranged mind than anything anyone from the right said or did.

I don’t but his best friend does and claimed that Zeitgeist had a huge influence on the shooters thinking and mindset.


It fits his YouTube movies, the books he loves and pretty much everything we know about this guy thus far.
