Do you know what's scary? I played StarCraft and Diablo in 7th grade too...

Does that mean I'm going to turn into a psychopath that attempts (and fails) to assassinate senators?

You know, Im honestly surprised idiots havent pointed the finger at the entertainment industry yet like they usually do when shootings happen.

Are you talking about a different topic than I? It seems so. Memory problems perhaps?

This is a good example of why I left the Left. You have to suspend reality and forget even the most recent history to make it through the day. A parade of self delusion... it's a world I could not live in.

I do recall an assault on Rush Limbaugh, Sarah Palin, and The Tea Party for a dynamic that has brought about a climate that results in such heinous acts as what happened in AZ. That was the storyline by Sher'f Dumb**** and the journOlists. You forget already?

BTW, when Hillary said it takes a village, she was talking about good'ol socialism at work. It doesn't take a village, it takes good parenting.

Me, too. I was never among the left, but I was certainly in that centrist area once upon a time. Over time, the absurdity just becomes too much. The contradictions, the bald-faced lies, the multiple characters like Sheriff Dumbass, Pelosi, Schumer, and Bill Maher. The insanity becomes too much.

At 17 my belief system was right in line with the fervent, Kool-Aid drinking Yes We Can cult.

I was a true believer, though at that time I probably couldn't tell you left from right politically. I was indoctrinated and didn't know it.

    Abortion... yep.
    Anti-Death Penalty... yep.
Nationalized industries like PetroCan in Kanuckistan... yep.
    Socialized medicine... you betcha.

I wasn't against the wealthy though, and had no real position on taxation. Probably because I hadn't made much money up to that point, but with every passing year these positions started melting away as I learned more and more. It took about 13-years for my take on socialist medical care to fall. Hell, at university I remember writing a paper for a Swedish buddy about the virtues of socialist medicine (projectile puke icon)... ROTFLOL. The real learning occurred after leaving university and starting my life as a global nomad.

When faced with an honest appraisal on issue after issue, there was no choice but to change my tune. As an intellectual exercise how can one come to another conclusion than embrace conservatism, though on any political exercise I line up right alongside Friedman? As an emotional exercise... well, that's another story, and it's their story. Appeal to emotion and ignore reality.

So you replaced one irrational ideology with another. ideologies are irrational because they assume or simplyify context and assume fixes for all problems regardless of varying factors. pssst, councilman's rant made no sense whatsoever. so why piggyback off of it. btw, what is the topic?

Has anyone noticed a DP member disappearing over the past few days? I say that in jest, but you wonder if Loughner ever happened along here.

A lot of this guys rants are going to come forward from a lot of websites in the coming days. Sounds like television wasn't his source of ire, but he most willing to share his dark thoughts online.
