he's a political extremist, isn't he? just because he doesn't fit into a right/left category, he is still an extremist. in fact, he's a terrorist.
 
From wikipedia: "Extremism is any ideology or political act far outside the perceived political center of a society; or otherwise claimed to violate common moral standards"

I don't think it is difficult to see how this applies to both islamic extremists and Jared Loughner. The guy didn't subscribe to any particular political party, but he obviously held an extreme political ideology which led him to kill several people.

I'm just wondering why it doesn't matter to Hillary that a Judge was actually killed in the same attack. Could it be because he was a Republican appointee?
 
So in other words, correct me if I am wrong folks, we over use the word "terrorist" but not "extremist"?

honestly I don't view that as relevant. I think gifford is the main focus of the media and the shooters intedned target... I just can't fathom how hillary can equate that as synonomous with islamic extremism.

Hillary isn't my dictionary, the dictionary is my dictionary. I already said he is an extremist, so she's right about that. but I also said that I don't agree with the comparison she made. two levels here, not one.

Ha ha, no, I didn't say what I didn't say. extremist, the word, means something. Loughner is what the word means. and, in addition, he is also mentally ill.

and to create a thread to argue differently is nonsensical
