    Most Unlikely Hero

I bet nobody expected the hero to look like this:

As he tried to insert a new magazine into the weapons, 61-year-old Patricia Maisch lunged forward and grabbed it out of his hands, said Pima County sheriff Clarence Dupnik.

"This is one of the most heroic acts I've ever seen," he said in an interview with Fox News.

"This lady was standing in line to have her picture taken with Gabrielle when all hell broke loose," he said.

"For whatever reason, she decided something had to be done. She came out of line and tackled the magazine and the gun this guy was holding," he said.

My hero!!!! She probably saved a dozen lives.

My hat is off to her. Truly an amazing woman. With a total of 90 rounds, the killer could have caused much more harm had it not been for her selfless action.

Kudos to her, this is what TRUE heroism looks like.

Damn, another role for judy dench.

She is a hero but she made it clear that the sheriff got the story wrong. It was an interview on Fox News.

    Re: Most Unlikely Hero

In these sorts of chaotic situations there seems to always inevitably be at least one person who does something so I really dislike how such people are always hailed as heroes. Does that make the people who tried to get away cowards? If she is a hero is the shooter a villain? Were I in a situation like that and performed a similar act I would probably be upset with people for focusing on me and certainly would be repulsed at being called a hero. It is a good thing someone prevented more harm, but I do not see reason to say anything beyond that.
