And yet what about her politics didn't he like?

Oh I see you don't mention that.

You're right. I didn't list specifics. That's because none have been given. So, no one knows for sure why he shot her.

Was Loughner upset that Gifford didn't address specific issues he believe important to him? Or did he shot her because of her ideological views? Or did he target her simply because of that one chance meeting they had and he saw her as his only "connection" to the political arena and in his opinion he totally disagreed with the politics of the day? Perhaps he believed government wasn't doing what in his view government is suppose to do....whatever that may have been. Regardless, how deep did his political views go and how dishearted he might have been...these such issues will route themselves out soon enough.

For now, I'll admit I may have spoken out of turn. As such, I will reserve further opinion as to why he did what he did until more details come forward. Nonetheless, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if his political resentment goes deeper than what's being reported. Regardless, you can't discount that politics played a role in what motivated this man to do harm to others. Clearly, something about her views affected him in a very negative way. Otherwise, he wouldn't have done what he did - mentally challenged or otherwise.

Strange how when Hinckley shot Reagan, it was never mentioned to be politically motivated, and rap and violent video games have no affect on young kids lashing out, but this guy listened to AM radio and it sent him over the edge.

Those were different times. We didn't have the level of vitirol we do now nor the partisan ranting pundants.

I hope all the families find peace, and those injured heal fully.

People noticed. Sadly, not enough was done, and the question is, how do you know when some moron is just being a pothead moron, and when do you know if he is near the tipping point of doing something vile? In most cases you cannot, until it is too late.

I've never been impressed with how slow to act universites are. University presidents are overpaid idiots. This just validates my believes.

That was my thought too. It was like when Kennedy was shot in that there was no one pointing the finger at Republicans. You just couldn't think another patriotic American could have done that.

In Reagan's case I think we were conditioned it had to be a nut as we had just been through the two moron women who tried to shoot President Ford.

If it wasn't so tragic I'd swear it's funny this kook has a strange resemblance to Uncle Fester on the Adams Family:

Jeeze did the picture scare everyone off?

Oh please. The only reason nobody did that was the almost exclusive control the left had over the press. Were it not for Bill Buckley and the National review, this would be the USSSA.
