See, concrete can be wet enough to write on, but too dry to finish. Typically, this is when it gets written on because when it's still wet enough to finish, there's usually someone around.
Tucker, that might be entirely true. And I have not ONCE argued that what they did was "wrong". I offered a possible solution, and all you can do is tell me "no, can't be done because what if what if what if..."
What if it was fresh enough? What if the damage was light?

    Hmm?

Which is a the better solution, haul 6th graders to jail or call the work team to have a go at fixing the cement?
Climate, changes. It takes a particularly uneducated population to buy into the idea that it's their fault climate is changing and further political solutions can fix it.

What did I lie about exactly? It'd be really helpful if you could point out the post.

Lord spare us the drama. They didn't go to jail.

there's no "might". It's the odds on favorite to be true. and I'm not the one dealing with what if's here, Vic. I'm dealing with reality bred form expereince in teh trade. Your only argumetn is if there are a certain unliekly set of What ifs in place

What if it was fresh enough? What if the damage was light?
As I said, that's a cerain set of unlikely "what if's". It owuld only be possible to refinish adequately if the damage was done almost immediately after it was finished (like within 15-20 minutes) and then the guy who finished it could get back within about the same amount of time. Otherwise, it's not going to work right. And even then, the chances are that it will be too set to refinish.

Now, when you add in the time it would take the cops to track down the guys who did the concrete, the odds fo getting this fixed are slim to none.

    Hmm?
Like I said, your solution was nonsense. I know it becuase I've done it. Just because you can imagine a solution which you think is better doesn't mean it isn't nonsense that can't be done in reality.

Which is a the better solution, haul 6th graders to jail or call the work team to have a go at fixing the cement?
Haul the 6th graders to the station and stop trying to excuse their criminal behavior as being no big deal when in truth you don't know how big of a deal it is. You think that it's just a matter of having the magic concrete fairy show up and smoothing everything out, but that's just silly and unrealistic.

Quite frrankly, it's often much easier to clean up graffiti than it is to repair this kind of damge to concrete, which is why it tends to stay there without being repaired.

Pretty sad when kids are considered criminals for being kids. Use to be a time when people would at worst shake thier heads at this and just move on. At best laugh and move on. Either way it was forgotten pretty quickly. Only times the kids would actually get into trouble is if they intentionally did MAJOR damage. Putting ones initials in concrete was never considered major.

Now though...its as bad as stealing and assault.

Now, do you actually want to discuss the topic, or do you want to continue with posting idiotic partisan hackery?

As to the specific topic... the cops did the right thing. It's vandalism, plain and simple. Vandalism is against the law and requires consequences. This is a good lesson for the girls to not vandalize anything again.

There is a difference, between wet cement, a fascination to children the world over, and getting your hands on a can of spray paint and vandalizing property.

You're now trying to alter the subject with further distortions of what I said and why. Are you that incapable of being honest?
Actually, there is no difference. Children can be fascinated by many things that, if they act on their fascination, cause damage and break the law. Consequences are appropriate.

15 to 20 minutes ??? And you claim to have worked with concrete before. You just proved yourself a fraud.
