I'm sure you have. As a concrete tester. I don't think you've installed conctete for ****, though.

Sometimes in the past, my only responsiblity was to test the concrete, on other projects I supervised and inspected the actual installation. Some GCs wanted me for testing only, others wanted more involvement.
Amazing that this other experience only showed up after I asked you how much concete you have actually finished.

    Understand now ???
I understand that you think that the work time at pour is the same as the work time after finishing, which leads me to believe you've never supervised **** in concrete.

You really haven't worked in construction at all have you, at least in major commercial construction??
I've got 11 years of expereince in residential construction, primarily in carpentry, but I've done work in every trade.

If you really are an expert, then answer the question I asked about time available to refinish after the concrete has been finished if the correct amount of water is used.

I started to question my own expereinces with concrete so I made a few calls to the guys I used to work for to get their opinions, All of whom have at least 30 years expereince installing concrete (not just taking core samples) and they said that what I was saying was abslutely correct with giving about an hour for refinishing after the job had been finished.

Residential ??? Just as I thought.

    I've been wasting my time.

Wet Cement isn't marred by a little touch up after it's been laid and some kid writes her name in it.

The problem comes when it's reached that "tacky" state where it takes some effort to put the name in. As long as it hasn't started to actually harden, you can repair most damage with a little work.
What makes you think this is a rebuttal to what I had said?

I'm sorry to have replied to you at all, it appears you over inflated your own experience and have merely been trolling the thread.

Have a nice day Tucker, don't bother responding, I won't even see it.

Just continue to allow in your willful ignorance, as usual.

I understand that maybe you can't just let it go because it is vandalism. However, I don't think they need to be so aggressive as they are being with this little girl. She's a kid, kids do stupid things all the time. And writing one's name in the concrete, it's not the worst thing a person can do. I think in cases like this, you know the police can pick them up if they see it, and then take them home. Tell the parents. "Hey, we caught your little girl writing her name in the concrete. That's destruction of public property, vandalism, blah blah blah. Most parents are not that thrilled when their kids get brought home in a police cruiser. I think that perhaps they are going overboard in prosecution.

Still no response to this, Gill?

How can you pretend to be an expert when you aren't even aware that there are sidewalks in residential construction?

yep, the time for a hard cure to commence varies by the proportion of water in the slurry
and those guys likely said they "placed" concrete rather than installed it
