New Congress Sworn in.

Moderator's Warning:
Let's ease up with calling each other racist. Thank you.

Well yea but Im taking about ones we can just eliminate completely.

The problem is people like the sound of getting rid of departments, but when you do and they start losing things they will bitch.

a new gop owned house!

with a plurality of FORTY NINE members!

AND quite a few dems willing, some even eager, to BOLT

did you hear nancy was confirmed as leader of her caucus by the FEWEST votes for any party leader since NINETEEN TWENTY THREE?

The anti-Pelosi vote - Washington Times

the NAY's, for those few of you who actually want to know what's going on BEFORE you click and submit, were:

gabby giffords from AZ, john barrow from GA, cardoza and costa from CA's water starved central valley, ron kind from WI, dan lipinski from IL, kurt schrader from OR, jason altmire (the single most sought after health care vote) from PA, heath shuler (ex redskin qb) from NC, dan boren from OK, jim cooper from TN, joe donnelly (the first dem to run an anti pelosi ad) from IN, tim holden from PA, larry kissell and mike mcintyre from NC, mike ross (top bluedog) from ARK, jim matheson (brother of the judge promoted) from UT, and mike michaud from maine

there are NINETEEN still serving dems who voted AGAINST obamacare, presumably many or most of whom will JOIN boehner and his bad 242 for repeal

did you hear what CLAIRE MCCASKILL said today on msnbc?

McCaskill moves away from mandate - David Catanese - POLITICO.com

that's quite a bombshell

of course, ms mccaskill, as loyal an obamite as stood up in 2010, hails from the show me state, where SEVENTY ONE PERCENT voted via measure c their DISAPPROVAL of the mandate last spring

the show me's, by the way, are famously almost never wrong when it comes to national issues, no state has picked the prez more often nor more accurately

of course, ms mccaskill is one of the FOURTEEN vulnerable upstairs dems (vs only one republican, scott brown) up for reelection in 2012

indeed, ms mccaskill is probably one of the LESS endangered dems, certainly ben nelson and jon tester and kent conrad are feeling MORE risk, while bill nelson, bob casey, debbie stabenow, herb kohl, sherrod brown, jeff bingaman and combat boots webb in virginia are generally in no better shape

Dem leaders face 2012's long shadow - Manu Raju - POLITICO.com

and how 'bout that jay rockefeller from WV, as liberal a rep in reid's roundhouse as any this side of schumer and wyden, hyper proponents all of the public option?

Rockefeller takes aim at EPA - Darren Samuelsohn - POLITICO.com

of course rockefeller's recalcitrance is nothing new, the progressive from appalachia has been piping up vs the epa about once a month for a year

and what about joe manchin, who only won kkk byrd's seat after putting a bullet thru cap and trade, who voted with mad mitch mcconnell on dadt and dream?

Joe Manchin stands by skirting votes - Shira Toeplitz - POLITICO.com

what do you think all that means, looking forward?

conservatives, you are to be praised for the conspicuous fellowship, principle and professionalism you've performed, we must persist, even improve

our opponents will continue to insult and evade while sanctimoniously congratulating themselves on their evolved superiority and blaming bush

which is why mccaskill and rockefeller and manchin and nelson and boren and giffords and altmire and shuler, et al, will continue to come our way

pros today see A DOZEN moves ahead, the footfalls are that foreseeable

even obama's beginning to recognize

take care, all

The Dems had plenty of ideas. Where did that get us?

it got us 66 new house republicans and a bright orange speaker who chain smokes

it got us control of 21 shiny new state legislatures for us to GERRYMANDER to our maximal partisan advantage the next 5 plebiscites for lower house (as well as state and local elections)

it got us 693 new state legislators coast to coast, most in modern history

it got us 10 new republican governors and 6 new senate seats

it got us a political landscape in which FOURTEEN incumbent dem senators are in real danger heading into 2012, compared to only ONE republican, scott brown from chappaquiddick

it got us tax cuts for the rich, courtesy of barack hussein obama's endorsement

it got us republican control of spending 2011, the summary surrender of reid's ridiculous and rotten omnibus

it's gonna get us repeal of obamacare thru lower house

it's gonna get us repeal of the individual mandate thru house and senate (ask claire mccaskill), and what's THAT gonna do to obamacare?

we're gonna take on the burdens placed on the states, the exemptions of more than 200 toobigs, the half T cuts to m and m, the hiring of new irs agents, the 1099's...

how's obamacare gonna proceed without its prime provisions?

how can it move when the states are so greatly empowered by the legislative language to implement themselves the exchanges, republicans controlling so many gubs, leg's, ag's and INSURANCE COMMISSIONERS?

it got us the white house's surrender on the absurd idea of moving mass murderers like ksm to venues in manhattan before the likes of lance ito, it got us the apparently permanent continued operation of GITMO

it got us the end of cap and trade, of global warming as a political issue, even

it got us the terminations of the white house careers of david axelrod, robert gibbs, christina romer, peter orszag, larry summers, dennis blair, stanley mcchrystal, james jones

it got us thru-the-roof ratings for fox news, while cnn and msnbc struggle to survive

it got us SUBPOENA POWER to ask in committee almost anyone almost anything we want about almost any issue we find worthy of america's interests

among many other things

party on, progressives, persist with your puerile expressions of pique

republicans will perforce prosper

mom and pop prefer grownups in positions of power

Got to love how the new congress Republicans started backtracking on their election pledges even before they were sworn in..

Spending cuts are now "hypothetical" according to aides of the GOP leadership.. go figure!

Your lean is now officially disclosed.

So much chest thumping for taking over the House, the weakest of the big three. The other two are going to shut the House up pretty damned fast. In fact, I didn't think that that branch of Congress was ever really relevant until you have shown me the light.

I know, a little gain is better than none and the GOP hasn't had anything to celebrate for a few years.

Cheers!

Jet,

In regards to investigations, IF they happen I hope they're in line with what I heard one new Representitive talking about. Essentially, investigating agencies and processes to search for waste and/or fraud and remove it...not necessarily investigations into specific individuals in the white house trying to find illegal activity.

I support that 100%.

only now?

LOL!

So much chest thumping for taking over the House, the weakest of the big three.

weakest?

just the facts, maam:

global warming---history

repeal in the house---try to stop it

repeal of the mandate thru both houses---ask ms mccaskill

tax cuts for ALL americans---thanks to obama/clinton

hearings on the burdens obamacare puts on the states, half a trillion dollars cuts to medicare, the 1099's...

why do YOU think hhs sebelius EXEMPTED the toobigs?

why must only SOME of us abide by obamacare's constraints?

did you hear about the irs' heavy handedness yesterday, reported by the agency's "internal watchdog" just in time for fred upton, the slasher, to tear into?

Report rips IRS 'torment' of taxpayers - Jennifer Epstein - POLITICO.com

why did reid abandon his obese omnibus?

and how 'bout that GITMO?

I didn't think that that branch of Congress was ever really relevant until you have shown me the light.

only now?

you once thought the house of representatives was irrelevant?

who holds the initiative, what is the president's agenda moving forward?

seeya in committee, chum

On the topic at hand, who knows what the **** will happen but dont expect much in scaling down the state

Speaking of non-accomplishment, when are you people going to get someone elected?

Let's vote the Dems back in, since they did such a bang up job. :lamo

just as the reps did a bang up job when they control? lmao.

Who was running the show at Fannie and Freddie? Who started the subprime mess? The Dems?

What about Barrney Frank, when he said that everything was just fine at Fannie and Freddie? I bet your pissed about that.

BTW, which Republican policies killed the economy? Thanks in advance.

Now that we realize that neither party works very well, how much longer are we gonna be exploited before we do something about it?

The Tea Party already got that ball rolling.

I think I should be elected dictator.

Corruption that is not my own would be met with execution, and the definition of corruption would be entirely based on my mood that particular day. People would fall in line pretty quick.
