The debt ceiling is not the budget. The debt ceiling reflects a congressional authorization for our government to meet existing obligations. Failure to raise the limit is in effect to force the United States of America to default on its obligations and will sink the world into fiscal crisis. Congressmen who want to control spending should focus on the budget.

I watch Hard Ball to see how far a once decent man has fallen.

I watch Rachel Maddow because she is charming in her error, and I really like her.

I watch Morning Joe because Mika Brzezinski is Joe's dominatrix.

    Aren't you an actor?

I really don't expect the debt to get cut. I just expect it to get shifted to republican interests where the rich get richer and the poor gets poorer.

Business as usual in D.C. Can't wait for fishing season to start up again.
So let me get this straight, you believe Bill Clinton submitted budgets LESS than the Republican Congress wanted? Proof please because the facts are different, the GOP Congress submitted budgets less than Clinton wanted.

Better to have some pissed off with some cuts, than loose the program all together when it goes belly up.

Of course Randel doesn't realize that as I doubt Randel or anyone else pays any attention to the budget so here again are the expense items. Notice the part that would be classified as social spending and then notice the defense budget. Shines a different light on the situation.

2010 budget numbers, this is Obama's budget. Note the credit in Commerce which is an accounting change due to cash for clunkers and first time home owner credits.

Sounds like a typical liberal, just print more money? Have you ever taken an economics or finance course? Seems you lack the basic understanding as to the role of the Federal Govt. You need to get out of San Francisco and see how the real world works.
