N.J. lawmaker questions absence of Christie, lt. gov. during blizzard

read the commentary by you and your ilk. your all whiny over a typical snowstorm, in a simple effort to demonstrate that you are a partisan hack.

Why aren't you in the bloomberg thread? oh that's right, you prefer to whine over nothing because it's a "R" you can whine about. Please, it's pathetic.

Did you miss my comment about Bloomberg? Whatever.

Partisan hack!?!?!?! Well I never in all my born days!!!!! For your information three of my favorite political figures of all time happened to be Republican. So there.

Don't give a crap. Doesn't change the fact you are embarrassing yourself in this idiotic thread about a snowstorm.

Isn't snow removal the job of state and local governments?

Up until a state of emergency is declared, yeah. Somehow I imagine you viewed Bush's role in New Orleans after Katrina differently...

yeah - don't let the facts get in the way of your vitriol. And I am very pleased with my contribution to this thread. Perhaps you yourself feel a bit queasy about defending someone who does not have the sense to return home in a crisis - if only to be with his people. I guess we look at leadership a bit differently.

Seems we still have people waiting to exit the NE corridor due to the snow, now tell me, how would you have Christie returning with closed airports?

Christie could be driven to the closest point to NJ by car where possible. Then he could be helicoptered in over the snow and airports. That is the advantage of such a machine that they do not need an airport on which to land.

And all of that cost just so you could feel confident that he is a leader? When "Go To Meeting" is available? Sounds like a waste to me.

I am willing to give you the benefit of the doubt on this, mostly because I don't feel like putting the effort into dredging up old posts. However, I recall one of the chief complaints about Obama was that he didn't seem leadery enough and wasn't personally taking charge.

I think much of that criticism of Obama was from the left because he didn't screw BP hard enough. Other than using his authority to side-step Jones act to speed the clean-up effort, I'm not sure there's anything further he could/should have done.

We have two very different perspectives on leadership and duty to the people who elected you.

and who the hell is denying that?

Yeah we must....See you seem to think that shows of leadership, are more important than actual action. That is where I see us differing.

Helicopters can't land in snow...white out from the down wash eliminates visibility and they need a visual reference to maintain a stable descent.

Don't confuse him with facts.

Oh, stop. Christie being in the state would have no mattered one bit. Whatever he did or didn't do, we in NJ handled things fine. Roads are clear, and they are carting away the snow in dump trucks so we can park on the streets again. The roads were good enough on Monday that I made it into work with no problem; Tuesdsay, not only did EVERYONE make it into work, but all of our clients made it to the office, too.

Complaining that Christie wasn't in the state is not only irrelevant, but DOES show that you are posting like a hack. Stop doing it. You are embarssing other liberals.

Look.. I don't even LIKE Christie, but I know this is a non-issue. Try to look at things with some sort of reasoning. You're posting is embarssing you, haymarket. STOP.

Ahh thanks for your consession.... Your hatred for a republican is your motive. Not anything legitimate. Thanks for admitting so.

Btw you want to be in a helicopter trying to land in a blizzard with 50mph crosswinds? Truly ignorant my friend. :lamo

Not anything legitimate.

Would his policies be legitimate?

Would his proposals for the state be legitimate?

Would his advocacy for irresponsibility be legitimate?

Would his fronting for dangerous radicals be legitimate?

I have never met Christie. It is his beliefs, his actions and his governmental policies that I detest.

And how does the subject of this thread fit into any of these things?

You would better ask the Rev that question since all I did was reply to his post in this very thread.

like what of his policies? You haven't contributed one intellectual thought in this thread. You cry about a blizzard, and then try to infer that folks who disagree with obama are hate numerous things yet you won't articulate.

I think this thread is a bit much for you.

It looks like we have another George W. Bush in the making... Christie is a conservative hero? :lamo

There was as much need for Christie to come immediately back to NJ and give orders in this situation, as there was for Obama to fly to the gulf when the Deepwater Horizon blew. Both were certainly capable of giving orders remotely.
