AP: New population count may complicate Obama 2012 bid

Re: New Census May Complicate Obama 2012 Bid

Also from the article

"The results from the U.S. Census confirm that the states with a heavy Hispanic population are the 'winners' in terms of the number of house seats gained," said Joe Kutchera, an expert on demographic trends and author of "Latino Link: Building Brands Online with Hispanic Communities and Content." "The growth in the U.S. is centered in the South and Southwest, regions that are heavily Hispanic."

The growth isn't in the US. The growth is in Aztlan, the Latino homeland.

So you think that the goal of latinos is sedition?

No, they don't hate America. They just don't want to assimilate to it. They want to maintain their Mexican identity and build a new country of their own without the level of violence and corruption found in Mexico proper. I can't blame them.

No, the go-getters are the ones leaving. They vote red.

In my community there have been different waves of illegal alien Mexicans. The go getters came earlier. This group coming now is made of very different stuff. Very bad young pistoleros everywhere.

As of right now, those pistoleros aren't a factor politically because they don't vote. Now if Dems manage to christen them with amnesty, or if the violence they are bringing to the states runs off the locals, it certainly could change things.

So, China town is wrong? What about little Italy? Little Havana down in Florida?

Does the US need some sort of cultural hegemony? (I bet I know what Kori's answer will be )

How do you think China gets it's hands on top secret American military technology almost as soon as it is developed? Chinese American scientists and engineers. America is fine for the lifestyle, but there is no reason to be loyal to it. America is a cow to be milked and then eaten.

The Italians came during the era when assimilation was still operative. I don't know about the Cubans. But I do know the Chinese.

They will just move into republican controlled states and vote for democrats, forcing the same destructive policies on their new states. Then they'll wonder what happened and how the previously republican controlled states (now democrat controlled) got into such bad economic positions. Which will, of course, force them to move again and start the cycle all over again. They're kind of like a plague that way.

Of pandemic proportions.. LOL

Tim-

concerning hispanic growth in states awarded new ev's:

on tsunami tuesday, perry took texas by 12.8%

and that's WITH all those extra estebans and estellas electioneering

ms martinez absconded with albequerque by 7.2

batty jan brewer bagged arizona by 12.5

dems were demolished in the grand canyon state, read:

Arizona swings away from Democrats - Molly Ball - POLITICO.com

rubio finagled florida by 19.2 (in a 3 way)

and in nervous nevada, while the father advanced past awkward sharon angle, the son rory was rooted out of carson city by 11.8

what do you think will be the effect of hispanic turnout in georgia, south carolina, utah?

Wow, you are quite paranoid.

It seems that many people are leaving blue states and relocating to red ones, which doesn't look good for the democrats... Gee, I wonder why this is happening? You think it has anything to do with the effects that democratic policies have on an economy, versus the effects that republican policies have?

Naaaaaa... That couldn't be it.

New population count may complicate Obama 2012 bid - Yahoo! News

This article fails to take many things into account. It assumes that people relocating to red states are necessarily going to vote red. In reality they don't. Look at the west for example. The rocky mountain and rest of the west was once a strong republican hold, however, more people including a lot of Democrats have moved out West. We saw in the last election the pull that the west is gaining in Presidential elections and the trend is toward the west becoming more blue.

Wow, you are quite paranoid.

My older son works for a defense contractor. Google the name Chi Mak. This has been going on for a long time.

Oh, btw, except for me the whole family is Chinese.

not in arizona, new mexico and nevada

in the silver state for example, dina titus was defeated giving republicans 2 of the 3 districts, sandoval downed rory reid by double digits, and harry (who won by 26 in 2004) almost lost to a wingnut

california is about the only state to resist the wave and we didn't get more blue, we stayed about as blue as we've been

in washington, in oregon, while dems still won, the margins were much closer than they've been

and colorado and the rest of the rockies became a republican blowout

that's 6 weeks ago, tsunami tuesday

fyi

Absolutely Nevada, New Mexico and even Arizona. Follow the changing demographics.

You are trying to extrapoloate one election and claim a trend. The acutual results over the course of the last 10 years speak to a much different changing demographic.

Demography is in your favor. But those new voters don't consider themselves Americans. There will be no unity. Only strife.

tell it to dina titus, ann kirkpatrick, harry mitchell, john salazar, betsy markey, dennie heck, harry teague, walt minnick, diane denish, terry goddard, rory reid...

in new mexico, arizona, nevada and colorado, there were a total of 14 incumbent dems up for reelection on tsunami tuesday

republicans defeated 6 of them

in contrast, not one red representative was rousted

nary a neanderthal was nixed 'tween new orleans and honolulu on nov 2

in NV3, vegas environs, 16% hispanic, incumbent dina titus was squeaked out by joe heck, 48.2-47.4

in AZ1, the sprawling eastern 2/3 of the state, very sparse, 16% hispanic, ann kirkpatrick was kicked out by paul gosar, 50.0-43.5

NM2, harry teague, southern half of the state, 47% hispanic, steve pearce replaced the occupant, 55.4-44.6

in colorado, john salazar (brother of the interior secty) and betsy markey, in the rural western slope and eastern plains, respectively, were likewise locked out

the slope is 22% hispanic, the plains 17%

in SOUTH TEXAS, district 27, corpus christi and brownsville, on the coast, heavily hispanic, 9 term incumbent solomon ortiz was ousted by a gringo, blake farenthold, in a decision so close it came to a recount

california is the exception, and even way out here on the left coast, the only republican-held office to change hands was the gub

it is what it is, more history than trend
