Hey that's really impressive research from a self-styled academic. Any one who raises this subject dies a figurative political death. Case closed. Now Jerry Brown has to fix this state or lose his head. This should be fun.

Nobody ever wakes up and says "today I would like my arm cut off at the elbow". But people do get that done each day and are thankful for it when it means saving the rest of the body.

That day will come and folks like you are setting the stage for it. Of course, you believe you have been setting the stage for something else altogether different. But in the end the masses will simply be too much for you no matter what ideology or think tanks tell you.

For those who don't know, green cards are not citizenship, just the first step toward citizenship. They'll need to stay "clean" for five more years to earn that standing. How are you going to persuade Republicans to support the Dream Act? The new people coming into Congress aren't friendly to illegal aliens.

Are you sure about that? After wall it was a republican president that signed the "Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986" AKA Reagan Amnesty. It was the last republican president that tried to push for amnesty. And the last republican presidential candidate that tried to push for amnesty and tried to toss illegal alien salad more than Obama did.

The Reagan Amnesty failed. It was heralded as a one time means of taking care of the illegal immigration problem. Instead, it only ended up bringing countless additional millions into America.

The experience of that failure makes it impossible for conservatives who care about the borders to support any additional amnesties.

There will only be amnesty over my dead body. Let's make a spectacle of it. Self-immolation on the steps of the Capitol. Haha.

I am well aware of contributory causation. This isn't a global discussion of causation. It's about illegal immigration.

Illegal immigration has changed my life. For me it is not an abstract problem. It's in my face every day.

First of all dont pull this bull**** that your the only person dealing with this. Im a retail manager and have to deal with illegal immigrats as well. The only positive I see from this is that they pay cash, which keeps my credit card expenses down. I want them gone but I refuse to embrace police state tactics, I said in a previous post in this thread on how to get rid of them without government thuggery.

I was wondering - what does it say about somebody when the reality of the truth is what makes them look bad? How can the Dems simply asking for or getting a vote make anybody look bad in and of itself? Would not the actions of the people themselves in fighting that vote or in casting their vote in a certain way be the factor that make them look bad?
