I question your open-mindedness considering you just made a bigoted statement right here for all to read. OR, since I am open-minded, please tell me why you're "not holding your breath" and you think gays are going to start asking for "special treatment" and what do you consider "special treatment", Mr. Oh-So-Open-Minded?

Is not being fired for calling your boyfriend back home special treatment? Is wanting to give your partner health coverage special treatment? How do you define it? And how are the gays going to get their panties in a bunch and destroy the military (given they've not destroyed the militaries of ANY other nation where they've been allowed to serve...)

I'm quite aware what the repeal means. However, just like desegregation for blacks in the military led the way to civil rights for the rest of the country, I could see a situation where gay rights in the military leads to gay rights in the public. Specifically, as I mentioned, having gay couples from some states eligible for spousal benefits and others not has the potential to spur change in the rest of society.
 
I look for recruitment in the military to become very difficult...............I think there might be a draft started and its to bad that people like Didney Dude can't be drafted.....He might be singing a different tune if he were................

They already have their rights and if you say gay marriage I will say the have the same rights i have....They want special rights..............

Why do you look for recruitment to be more more difficult? You do realize younger generations are more likely to accept gay rights including gay marriage more so than any other group.

How would it be "speical" rights. By your own logic, if they were allowed to marry the same sex, so would you. It's kind of ridiculous that you would argue that everyone being allowed to marry the opposite sex is equal rights but everyone being allowed to marry the same sex would be special rights.

Technically, with the passage of gay marriage, you would also have the right to marry a member of the same sex. No one would have more or fewer rights than anyone else. Everyone's rights would increase equally. You simply wouldn't use that right, the same as a homosexual wouldn't use the marriage rights that you would.

This is bull, NP. A man who loves another man and wishes to make that other man his closest living relative, aka legal spouse, cannot do so, unlike a man who loves a woman. Not in the exact same manner with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with a legal, civil marriage, recognized by the federal government and accordingly recognized by every other state in the US.

Funny thing is that those that say the repeal of DADT will hurt the military never seem to realize this. I mean come on, DADT was put there because people already knew that they were serving in the military. Now that they can serve openly it is suppose to change everything? Get real.

Riiiight. You can totally equate the repeal of DADT to the Civil Rights Act. That's almost insulting.
