Redress although never stationed on one I have spent time on carriers and you have all the comforts of home.........Most of the time you don't even know your underway...You should ride a destroyer in a hurricane off of Cape hatteras N.C............You would thank your lucky stars you served on a carrier in a squadron
I have held onto tie down chains on the deck to keep from being washed overboard Navy. Admittedly this was only once during winter off the coast of Normandy, but you don't under\stand carriers. Sailors on little boys have it so much better.
