This is bull, NP. A man who loves another man and wishes to make that other man his closest living relative, aka legal spouse, cannot do so, unlike a man who loves a woman. Not in the exact same manner with all the rights, privileges and responsibilities that come with a legal, civil marriage, recognized by the federal government and accordingly recognized by every other state in the US.

Yes and yes. I didn’t and wouldn’t assign such motives to “all gays” the way you implied however.

Did I really make a bigoted statement? If I disagree with the tactics used by many of the gay activists, that makes me a bigot?

Nastiness and hostility towards me might make you a hero among many on this forum but it won’t do much to further an intelligent discussion of the issues and is more likely to put me in a defensive mode rather than draw me into a discussion where you might have an opportunity to influence my opinions.

No, I wouldn’t consider either of these examples “special treatment”.

With this sort of mentality, I cannot help but think how big the backlash will be.

Can everybody honor the gay service men and women if they choose to be open about their sexuality??? or is that going to hard for some of you?

    That is a serious question..

Oh no! People are celebrating a historical event! Good heavens! I wonder what happened when people celebrated the passing of the Civil Rights Act of 1968. Did America implode? Let me go outside and check. BRB!

Not if they believe it to be reprobation and perversion.

Riiiight. You can totally equate the repeal of DADT to the Civil Rights Act. That's almost insulting.
