    LOL

And yet, there he sat, next to Jimmy Carter, in the VIP suite of the Democratic National Convention not so very long ago.

Hitler had his Himmlers and Goerings. Castro, Chavez, and Putin have their Michael Moores, Sean Penns, and Danny Glovers.

Careful...that may be a punishable offense...because there were a LOT of morons jumping on board to defend how wonderful Cubas health care system is (without...of course...actually having the first ****ing clue about it).

Convenient how only the cables pertaining to HIM are "lies."

LOL - what a joke the Guardian is... would be nice if they at least put forth some minimal level of effort to check the veracity of this stuff before publishing it as "fact." Now, instead of retracting the story, they just pull it - the OP link is now broken.

The story has now been replaced with this one:
WikiLeaks cables: Michael Moore film Sicko was 'not banned' in Cuba

This story also contains unsubstantiated "facts" -- at least the Guardian is consistent on something:
American diplomats made up a story that Cuba banned Michael Moore's 2007 documentary, Sicko, in an attempt to discredit the film which painted an unflattering picture of the US healthcare system, the film-maker said today.
EDIT: "This story also contains unsubstantiated "facts" -- at least the Guardian is consistent on something:" is not technically true, given that it's credited to Moore. But it's still implied by the story to be fact, especially if the reader just glances at the first couple lines.

It's also interesting to read some of the Cuban propaganda:

Defying the mines laid to secure the illegally maintained military base, the documentary maker announces on loudspeakers the purpose of his visit. Standing high up on the top of a base checkpoint tower, the only response he receives is a siren’s howl. So the helpless shipwrecked persons have no other way out than to land on Cuban soil.

The small underdeveloped country, which precisely the United States insists in presenting as a danger, welcomes the 11/9 rescuers, who receives the best specialized medical assistance.
Moore, in one of the interviews he granted before premiering the film said: “ Cuba is a poor country that impressed me a lot because the little resources it has are destined to provide sanitary assistance. They end up living more than we do, have a lower infant’s mortality rate in relation to us. Besides they send their doctors on working missions to the Third World countries in need”.

Memorable in Sicko is for example the scene, where American soldiers join a group of Cuban firemen. Together they pay tribute to the September 11 victims, share anecdotes, experience and embrace as if they were brothers.

“If this is what happens between two alleged enema parties, if an enemy can hake hand with you and also cure you, then what won’t be possible”, Sicko’s director wonders.

Its a lie because Michael Moore SAYS its a lie?

Its especially good at the end of the clip when he is called on his lies he diverts attention away from Cuba and tries to shift the focus to Canada and England.

It's assumed inaccurate given that the record of discussion from Cuban websites and news services. I have no idea whether the film was edited or shown in its entirety, or whether the leaked cable was a "lie" or merely incorrect.
