DADT isn't going anywhere in the senate.

It will have to wait until the new congress comes in January where the Republicans picks up 6 votes in the Senate.....DADT is doomed........
Except, there has been a threat that Reid will make the Senate stay in session to vote for this or go back to work right after Christmas. And it is quite possible that this will have the votes to pass. Not every Republican is against this repeal. Even some of those who did vote against it in previous votes claim that it was because of procedures or other things in the same bill.

McCain needs to move out of the way and let the military have what it is asking for, the repeal of DADT.

A majority of the House, the president, the secretary of defense, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and most of the American public want to see this policy ended. Most of the military does not even care. This is no longer a winning policy for Republicans to support. DADT is doomed.

It's a strange thing to see so many senators fighting for something the people don't even support anymore.

If you think that Reid is going to keep the Senate in session over the holidays you live in a dream world...........This whole thing is about the gay vote........The dems woulkd sell their souls for it..........Reid did not even mention DADT in his things to be done.......Reid give DADT lip service but actually he is dead against it.........He is a Mormon and homosexuality is against his belief.......Reid did not even mention it on the things to be done prior to the Senate adjourning..........At best it does not look good

If Reid gets it to a vote, he's got at least 5 Republican Senators who will vote for repeal, Collins, Snowe, Murkowski, Lugar, and Brown. All announced. So I think a filibuster cannot happen, and with those five, it will pass if it gets a vote.

Not a simple question. I like parts, dislike parts. I am very split on it.
