It was an analogy. So you don't look people over and make a few inner judgments, huh? I call BS.

Obviously, there's not a shortage in actual manpower, and it doesn't justify by any means telling me what I have to feed my children.

I never said I agreed with her, I just added the part of her statement that explains the part you quoted. I like things in context. Sue me.

I agree with this. More PE and more nutritious meals in schools is the way to go. It's a no brainer. As for what they do or eat at home, that is no longer the government's business.

Then I look around and see these fat, lazy, complaining, underachieving, socially inept, unpolished kids everywhere I go. They waddle along behind their ginormous parents, eating french fries with their eyes glued to their Nintendo DS screen. And usually they're waddling behind their mom, because dad checked out a long time ago. I'd estimate this is 50 percent of the kids out there.

I can't help but think....it's going to be so easy for my girls to dominate these kids for the next 80 years. Even at a young age, my kids are already more sophisticated than these kids will be when they're 30.

This is what institutional dependency wroughts.

I agree with Michelle Obama on the problem, but government breeds this mentality, and government can't undo it. Here comes another few billion down the toilet.
I was with you on all of that, but you kinda lost me at the bolded part. How does government make these people fat and lazy?

    Let me ask a question...

How many in here run a traditional 2-parent household where 1 parent (usually the father) works and the mother remains home? If you run your household this way, just say "I DO".

I'm serious! Everyone reading this post, Roger-up!

Rap music I just don't like it
Rock and Roll I do like it, but didn't want to look biased against Rap
violent video games Think they bad for impressionable young children and might lead to acting out.
single parents many live on government subsidies, disadvantage to the children
abortion morally bad for society and not healthy for the unborn
laying on sofa, watching TV causes obesity
not working, by choice not harmful I guess, just not helpful
bars can lead to arrests from fights or DUI
accepting subsidies just because you qualify drag on tax payers
Having Dish network while on welfare just not right if you can't afford food and rent on your own.
wasting food just wrong and well, wasteful.
finding loop holes to avoid taxes, legal but a simpler tax system would be more fair to those who can't find or use them.
letting your pets reproduce just wrong in every way unless you are a reputable breeder. fill up shelters, strain on animal control
    wasting all day on DP
could lead to mental breakdowns and can cause obesity.

but the childhood obesity problem deserves 17 more gov. programs billions of dollars, tons of regulations, because it's costly to our healthcare.
Oh, and it's a danger to our national security.
It's breeding a cradle to grave mentality.
Government needs to get the hell out of the way and let people live their lives, and raise their own kids.

Has that even been traditional since the 60s? Okay, I've got a source saying 5.6 million stay at home moms out of 77.4 million households with children. Assuming stay at home dads are a pretty small number (sorry guys) it's pretty safe to say that most of us will say no.

I'd rather spend the money on our kids then bailing out banks. How is the government preventing you from raising your kids again?

When I read someone saying something like this I get suspicious about their intentions. Its sounds like she wants more than just healthy food and more PE at public schools.

“And from military leaders who tell us that when more than one in four young people are unqualified for military service because of their weight, childhood obesity isn’t just a public health threat, it’s not just an economic threat, it’s a national security threat as well.

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murder is less to fear"

Hey tell it to the first lady... I judge people based on the content of their character, always have, just raised that way. Yes, tis true that my thresholf for character is higher than perhaps yours, but I can't help you with that.
