Americans are so enamored of equality that they would rather be equal in slavery than unequal in freedom.

I stand corrected on my post #302. It's was the Virginia Commonwealth District Court not the State of Florida that ruled against the individual mandate.

But hey, don't let me get in the way if your partisanship.

Both Democrats and Republicans have screwed your nation down the river.
Now-a-days, politicians are so desperately afraid of losing their jobs, losing their exalted positions, they will do or say anything to keep their voters happy, especially those who have nothing to fall back on and are to young to retire.

Those who are desperately holding onto their own jobs can relate with this.

Why do I get the feeling you don't mind paying for someone who ooops didn't even graduate high school, or ooops got pregnant without the benefit of a father to support the baby?
Also, isn't it mostly hospital and doctors who absorb the costs for dead beat patients? (not sure, just asking) You guys also act like people without insurance don't pay any doctor/hospital bills. I haven't had insurance for about five yrs, yet I go to the doctor. I get tests done. I pay out of pocket. I get a discount because I pay up front and they don't have to deal with insurance co. or the government. Do I want insurance in case something bad happens and I need hospitalized? Hell yes, but I can't afford it. We do need reform for people like me. Reform that lowers the cost. Unfortunately this bill only makes things worse for everybody.
Let me know when you get diagnosed with something like congestive heart failure and a panel of doctors are telling you you need a heart transplant.

I don't know any dead beat fathers either, but when I'm talking about fathers who don't pay child support, I call them dead beats.

Better than nothing seems to be the Congress M O nowadays, not the good of the people...

Winston, I know your situation, but a HC system that the libs want is going to make people like you even less likely to get a transplant in time. Are you on a waiting list?
I hope you are doing everything you can think of to solve your problem and not waiting around for the government to step in.

I'm already getting government help. I do not think health care is a right nor a privilege. I think it is a necessity. For both the healthy and the ill.
